As writers, we are our own biggest critiques. We see flaws in our writing that sometimes don't really exist and others don't pick up on, and sometimes hate rereading our own threads because we see so much wrong with them. It is good to reflect on our writing and pick up what we don't like so we can improve, but it is equally important to think about and reflect on the good writing we have done. So in order to try and spark some positive reflection, I wanted to start this thread here. Please link your favorite thread you have written and explain why this thread was your favorite. What did you like about writing it, and what really made you proud as a writer?

I'll start:

My favorite thread so far has to be The Gathering (https://www.althanas.com/world/showthread.php/1073-The-Gathering). While it Is not quite done yet (less than 1/2 way done), it is by far the best writing I have ever done. Gavner and I are spending a lot of time really making sure there is a great flow and coherent story while keeping the writing interesting. The writing is way better than my first threads I ever wrote here, and I can really tell the difference. I feel as though I can really get into the posts, it pulls me in every time I have to reread a post to write another and revitalizes my interest in the thread. I love this thread, and we hope we can try to finish by the end of the year. It's also awesome to think that at the rate we are going, we'll have about 150,00 words by the end, equivalent to a mid length novel.

So what is your favorite thread you have written?

My favourite threads have been written with Kayla, aka Darkest desires etc. We've written off the site for some time now together and creating our own little adventures. I reckon we're genuinely approaching a million words of writing.

I think the Cleansing Corruption is probably my favourite thread i've written. It was mine and Storm's second thread together and the start of the Brotherhood. His writing carried us to a JC on that one.

I also absolutely loved my threads with Breaker (Control, Death of a Diety) back on 3.1.

Finally, our parody thread "By the time they figure out what happened..."

Aside from the obvious threads with the Brotherhood that have dominated my time here for a couple years, there are a ton of threads from the old world that I remember very fondly.
- Western style showdowns with Letho
- Long run romance arcs with Karuka
- The neverending thread with Ebi that I think took us five years to finish
- And yes, that "By the Time" tripping balls thread with Shin and Breaker was beyond epic

- On the Concept of Hatred was a thread I wrote a long time ago, my first major effort at improving my writing. I loved the story, and even though I know it sucks looking back, I loved writing the thread and the impact it had on both me and Mary Sue-I mean Ashla.

- The threads my cousins and I wrote. Tons of nostalgia from childhood!

- I loved the two Dheathian threads Yvonne and I wrote. Too bad we never finished them...

- Several Citadel threads can make it on this list, including Fallen and These Lonely Walls.

- The Leoric x Felicity threads!

Definitely anything with Cards of Fate. The Vince/Ray dynamic is so fun, and Fred is a blast to work with. He’s like a whirlwind - he’s always throwing out new, creative ideas. It’s the craziest, most wonderful experience.

One I missed which I NEED to mention - Small Magic!

Thanks, Shin. :) Your Cleansing Corruption was fantastic, too, as was the story that preceded it. I’m glad I was able to read/judge them both.
