--------------
Level 4 - Updates highlighted in blue.
Name: Marcus Haroptic
Alias: Elite Optic
Age: 10,000 years
Race: Undead
Height: 12ft
Weight: Half a ton.
Personality Traits
Curious - Elite Optic is curious of the new world, he is willing to spend time on something that catches his imagination.
Betrayed - Having died due to a betrayal, Elite makes this personal. He will slay the untrustworthy.
Intelligent - Elite, being a skeleton, is assumed thick. However, he is far from it.
Desensitized - Nothing fazes Elite. He does not fear, he does not care. He's seen it all before, blood, gore and more. There's nothing significant about these anymore.
Appearance:
Elite Optic is a grand skeleton of oversized proportion, while his general bones and body appear that of enlarged human, his shoulders and skull are obscure is design, bearing additional structure that bulk out in thickness and shape into sharp horns like that of an spear heads. These thorns protrude from his knees, elbows and shoulders, as well as the base of his ribs.
His skull enlarged, is extra thick and board, with the inside of his skull completely shadows by more than just a lack of light, with his own existence a black mist that swirls around within his head. Two light burning flames continue to burn without the need for fuel, the red flames from the base for his own eyes, and change colour depending on his mood, with a calming mood influencing a colder blue colour.
Skills:
General Weapons Combat
Elite Optic has well mastered the art of sword fighting, and while his huge stature and frame no longer support the more agile sword play he once used, he is adept in attacking with the various large sword types for which he now uses to match his larger frame.
Equipment/ Items & Weapons:
Cleaver of the Dead
The hilt of this two meter long sword is a brown rusty colour yet the grip and pommel are as hard as stone. The hilt itself is broad and covers the hand protectively, while visually appearing to display a sort of closed eye in its metallically moulded design. The blade itself is single sided like a machete, but with a spiked tip, it can be stabbed forward.
The Cleaver of the Dead is made from a ancient living rusted metal, As this metal ages, it strengthens, matching its properties to existing metals. The exact origin of this living metal is unknown, but the blade now has the strength and properties of Dehlar metal, while visually appearing a rusty old relic. Even rusty metal appears to flake off as if the blade is shedding like a creature, yet the blade does not diminish; it simply remains the same size.
Ring of the Undead
A ring created within the depths of Death's Domain. The indestructible ring is made from an unknown metal and cannot be marked of blemished. (See Abilities)
Skull Rack
Elite Optic carries a bone made rack on his back, this is tied together with hooks and lace and has the skulls of his up most favourite kills hanging from it. The bone on the top of the rack is sharpened into spikes that cover the rear of his head, yet this is no real weapon or armour, and used solely for visual trauma.
This rack carries the skulls of some his fallen victims: General Arelius, Fhader, Narlen, Grockel, Zeon & Eric
Abilities:
Undead Bone
The skeletal frame of Elite Optic is no normal bone, once stripped of his very flesh; Marcus's soul was fused in the undead world, leaving his true body lost within the domain of death. Thus giving Marcus a new body, the very bone of which is hardened to the equivalent of a Golem's Carapace, additionally meaning his size and weight increase beyond that of a any normal man.
Associated Traits:
Senseless
Elite relies heavily on sight as he lacks his majors senses. Though while currently having no major sight advantages, it remains his key sense. Elite can however smell death(blood). Having no circulatory system Elite Optic has a strange craving for it, and can locate it directly within one hundred meters. Elite otherwise, cannot smell a thing.
Elite is passive at hearing, most sounds will simply pass him by. He only hears what is directly spoken to him, or if he has a target/area of focus of which to pay attention to. This focus can allow Elite to hear a heart beat within a range of twenty meters should he be aware of their presence.
Elite has no sense of touch, while this in turn gives him the inability to feel pain, he in fact cannot feel anything. He cannot feel texture or temperature which in turn can have further degrading results, or simply allow Elite to touch someone and not even know they were there.
Being unaware of temperature leaves Elite at an strange disadvantage. He freezes quicker than that of any other creature. He cannot generate or expel heat of any form leaving the cold to have a greater and quicker effect on him - his body simply matches the temperature of the surrounding area.
Immune
Elite is immune is poisonous effects. While this doesn't stop eroding effects such as acid, this does mean he can't be poisoned and made ill by some hazardous material or liquid. Merely an advantage of being un-dead.
Un-Dead Stamina
Elite suffers from what every big creature suffers from, sheer size and weight means slowness. Elite is considerably slower than that of a fit person, and Elite doesn't like to run. In fact, his bones doesn't like it. While short bursts are fine, Elite cannot consistently run beyond that of about one hundred meters. However, having no muscles to tire, this does allow him to walk for great distances - albeit at only a max of three miles an hour.
Head Strong
Elite Optic's body can be destroyed and his head can still talk before he finally returns to the world of the dead. Elite's entire body will simply collapse into dust should his heady be decapitated. Should the rest of his body remain intact when a limb is removed, the limb can still be used. This can technically be used again him.
Blunt Force
Elites Blunt force nature is as much an advantage as disadvantage. While his weight makes him hard to move and a heavy hitter, he is also susceptible to blunt force trauma. While stronger against slashing, bones are still weak against bludgeoning style attacks.
Pile of Bones
Being dead has some benefits, Elite Optic can collapse into a pile of motionless bones at any given time. Although reconstruction can take a few moments to actually complete, his head can float a good meter above the ground during which he can float off. Floating is slower than he can walk, but is useful for hiding or accessing smaller places, although he can never be more than three hundred meters from the rest of his body.
Fire Resistance
Made of no ordinary bone, Elite Optic has a strong resistance to it. This allows Elite optic to pass through fire unharmed, providing he does not linger within its flames.
Inhuman Strength
Elite Optic is gifted with great strength, his sheer size and weight makes for a powerful presence in general, but he has the strength to match and can produce feats of strength in accordance to his size.(X2)
Ring of the Undead
Elite Optic is a minion of the undead world, but one that feeds off death rather than suffers from it. Even when beaten and slain in the living world, Elite Optic will always return. There is no permanent death for a creature that should not be alive in the first place.
The ring of death was once a metal ring signed by death himself, and seared into the finger of the chosen few. This ring is now a metallic band that has fused into the finger of Elite Optic with the language of death still etched into it, the ring itself is in destructible in the living world, and it allows its bearer to unlock the hidden doors to the underworld. Elite Optic uses this to travel between the worlds of the living and dead. (Please note, the travel between the dead and living world is a long process, doors between worlds are difficult to find and only open in select places within the living world. This is used purely for story purposes, and there are no instant returns to the world of the living.)
Familiar's
Undead Crow
The Undead crow of Elite Optic. His servant, raised from the dead for his own use. The Crow is literally a dead black feathered crow; it's skin and feathers hang on in parts but its organs, besides its eyes have all rotted away. It is rather horrifying to look at, but is itself a lookout for Elite Optic as it relays information back to him.
Sorian
An old human male. His old man's temperament, desire to live and love of power is intriguing to Elite. His past as a warrior and his skew view on the world has created some interesting events in Elite's life as an Un-dead creature. Therefore, he follows Sorian like an Angel on his shoulder, awaiting what further intrigues are to come from this old man. Sorian is old and grey, with a long beard and bald head. His wears common clothes and an large dark green cloak and fits in well with a crowd.
Ancient History
Marcus Haropic was once a great human soldier who worked in the kings army, with a drive to achieve more and reach a level beyond that of anyone beside him. Once a mere soldier, he quickly worked his way up to captain of his own sector, before being promoted again to join the King's Elite Guard. Wealthy and in a favoured role of the King's Elite Guard Marcus appeared to be set for a well off life for himself and family, and yet things were not to be.
Marcus's favoured position was only enough to please his sense of wanting for short period of time and soon in General Arelius's meetings and council Marcus would speak out, argue his opinion and defy orders to his own liking. His status was favoured when some of his gambles paid off and he further looked to take the General's position.
General Arelius's discontent became well known by the King, but the favour from his triumphs he held were too strong for even the general to take any direct action. This did not deter the General, who had kept his position safe for the many years by more than just slaying in battle.
Paid assassins soon laid waste to his family, slaughtered at home while he was away. Upon his return the most painful of memories, one that would plague him for the rest of his life. His ambition destroyed, his love for life and desire to further himself had completely removed, he was a shadow of his former self.
But some friends would never betray their own, and after a year the word was leaked of ho had murdered his family, Marcus would soon discover General Arelius was behind the murders. Yet there would be no plot for revenge, there would be no cunning strike back. Marcus would break his way into the General's office and confront him directly, challenging him to one on one combat to the death.
Yet the General would not entertain the idea, and as he found himself surrounded by the very men who had passed on word of the betrayal. It was his plan all along, for now Marcus was the one barging in to attack him; Marcus was slain where he stood, betrayed by all those around him.
Yet, the name Marcus would not be forgotten, and as all seemed to move on without him, Marcus found himself in the depths of hell itself. Finding himself on a cold dungeon floor, locked behind a mighty steel cage, Marcus would spent many nights alone, his gaping wounds still present and with no real answer to why he was still alive, or where he was.
Screams and cries echoed through the cell and around his head, the pain, the intense hatred for what had happened to him, the desire to kill them all. Then, a man in a dark cloak arrived before him, carrying a candle and cradling it carefully as he stopped before the cage.
"If you were given the chance to exact your revenge, would you take it? Even if it meant you would be a servant of death for the end of time? I will fix your body, I will return your desire, I will focus your rage and allow you to exact revenge upon those who you wish."
"Yes."
Marcus, was changed forever, his wounds were gone, his skin stripped slowly over a period of five days, his guts and organs all carved out with a series of utensils and tools that he had never witnessed before. Marcus was reduced to just a skeleton, and everything went black.
Then, awakening before another cloaked man, taller and mightier than anything he had seen before, his skeleton hands reached out from the long black sleeves as his bone finger touched his hand skeleton hand. A ring seared into his own, with writing he had never seen before but understood.
Key of Death's Domain...Elite Optic
He could feel the burning on his finger, the floor under his feet and he could smell blood, he craved it. The dead man before him, he knew him even though he could not see his face behind the black mist that shrouded under his oversized hood. This man, if he was a man at all, was Death.
Gifted a great sword made of bone, and an undead crown made from bone, Marcus was now a knight of hell. Marcus would admire his new form and prepared for his revenge. On Death's command, he walked up the stone path before him, and opened the large door to the living world. Marcus could taste the fresh air, it no longer meant anything to him, he didn't need to breath, he didn't need to care for anyone else.
Marcus could sense his enemies, smell their blood, hear their heart beats, and it wasn't long before he hunted down the assassins dicing them up and then turned his attention to his old colleagues. His very appearance had caused panic and havoc in the living world, a walking skeleton with a grudge that was slaughtering everyone in his path. The only thing that mattered was that they must die in revenge.
Breaking through the ranks of men before him, his pleasure grew as he cut them down with his mighty bone sword. All that stood before him fell, soldier after soldier before he finally made his way to the room where he was once slain. The barricaded door shattered under his sheer size and strength, and he wasted no time, with no explanation to cutting down those before him.
Finally he stood before General Arelius, and told him why he would die this very day, why all the death before him was his own cause.
"Elite Marcus!?!?" He cried out as the blade pierced his chest.
"No...Elite Optic."
Arelius was torn apart, limb from limb. It was only then that Elite Optic understood, he wasn't here to just exact revenge upon his enemies, he was here to send the souls of those to Deaths Domain, and Death was hungry.
Since that fateful night Elite Optic has travelled between the land of the living and the land of the dead he knows as Death's Domain. Released on command, or when summoned through a spell, Elite Optic has been alive for thousands of years, but has not been released or summoned since his last exit from Althanas over three thousand years ago, and his story sits as a forgotten legend and folk lore story, but one of a knight from hell.
Until he one day, is summoned once more.
Modern History
Summoned by a future king, Elite Optic was arisen from the depths of Deaths Domain, his past a frightening reminder that horrors do lay deep beneath the surface of Althanas's earth. A dying king, armed the mightiest of Necromancers used the greatest of awakening spells to not only wake up, but to capture the skeleton body that was Elite Optic.
It had been some time since Elite Optic has been above ground, and the old dying King had arisen him for one reason. To trap him for eternity, the great ancestor of the murdered General Arelius was now a king. Dying of old age as his body began to shut down. He would trap Elite Optic in a special tomb, a tomb of which they planned to never find, to never open. He would be fated to guard the King's body for eternity, that was the punishment for his past.
This would last for thousands of years...
Yet, humanity has always searched for the past, and there are those among the humans who simply cannot let go. A group of men searched tirelessly to find the old king's tomb, and to the disbelieve of even themselves, found it.
Elite Optic was released, awakened from his deepest of slumbers. No Necromancers to hinder him, no magic to lock him down, he was awake, and all those who he once knew were long dead. His arrival, once believed an impossibility, had arrived.
These men, Himlen, Irwen, Fhader, Drell & Watt; had discovered the lost... Only one would survive their encounter, only one could return to tell the world that Elite Optic had returned.
Ietus History
Having returned back into the world, Elite Optic is a shadow of his former self. While still undead and strong, he is far from his potential, and the God of Death sent him to Ietus. Ietus is a medium sized island with an open gate to the undead world of deaths domain, named after it's ruler, Ietus is a slowly growing powerhouse the world of Althanas is yet to truly uncover. Here Elite optic is now under the charge of the God Ietus, Death's right hand.
Ietus now has Elite Optic on errands to slay users of broken contracts, this has been at times tiresome for Elite, as most are wimpy and weak minded, until Elite came across Zeon. Zeon falsely signed a contract adding his friends to it, and when his contract ran out, he fled.
Elite caught Zeon, killed him and several of his friends, but the elusive Ayithe Solete and Raslin Icewind made their escape to Ietus, and the contract was broken.
Elite awaits further contracts while pursuing other interests. Currently he follows Sorian, an old man who has peaked his interest.
