Who's Behind The Mana Reactor?!
Sodden gravel squelched, then crunched, beneath the android's shimmering brass feet. It was a busy market day. Rain clouds rolled overhead, threatening another miserable downpour, while people ambled away down below. In the midst the throng, a metal being walked with resolution. The shiny "man" was no man at all, but rather, it was the Imperial Mana Reactor. The android had attempted to dress itself, its startling metal form was clothed in a loose-fitting coat, and its featureless face was shaded by a broad-brimmed hat.
Frightened cretins stumbled aside, on account of the Mana Reactor's poor attempt to disguise itself. Meanwhile, little children weren't quite so afraid. Instead, they tapped curiously on the Mana Reactor's conspicuous metal exoskeleton. The robot did not react. Instead, it continued with purpose towards the horologist's shop. It would make sense, one supposes, that a clockwork being would be interested in a clockmaker's workshop. Although, the Imperial Mana Reactor was beyond a simple clock. But, in equal measure, Kaihart Gluggs, was more beyond a simple clockmaker.
There was no bell on the shop's door. No bell was necessary, though, because the android's metal hand clanged against the bronze doorknob so loudly that the patrons all turned to see. Mr. Gluggs reluctantly ceased tinkering and placed his loupe on the worktop. With an anxious heart, he deliberately peered over the cluttered counter. "Ah," he muttered with dignified resignation, "the boy said you'd come for me eventually."
The Imperial Mana Reactor offered no reply. Actually, the android was not able to speak.
"Let me finish this gentleman's timepiece," the clockmaker asked humbly, "and then I'll go with you... quietly. I won't make a commotion."
