Introduction to Stonevale

Welcome to Althanas.

You have now entered Stonevale, the small mining town nestled in north Scara Brae, an isle south of the island kingdom of Corone. This town also acts as the welcome space for newcomers, as a place to kick-start your Althanas adventures.

This particular thread is for you to ask and have answered any questions that you might have about Stonevale. If you want to ask questions about the site in general please consult our FAQ and starter guide (LINK HERE) and address the forum called the Flying Stone Tavern.

Stonevale acts as part of Althanas itself. Please remember that to roleplay on Althanas you need to have an approved character beforehand. The only place where this is an acception is in the tavern the Merry Robin Public House. Please see that thread for more description.

This thread houses the basic descriptions of Stonevale itself. Because we are a land built by the community these descriptions can be added to and may change over time.

Stonevale and the mines:

Stonevale itself is a small mining town, with a problem of goblins hidden in the old mines. People here come in all shapes and sizes, with the mining being how the general money comes in, but with connections to many other towns.

Mentor and Mentee thread:

This is a thread where you can request or offer guidance in the form of being a Mentor or a Mentee - someone who would like aid in improving their roleplaying or writing skills. It takes place in no particular area of Stonevale.

The Adventure Board and Adventuring Tavern:

This is a board where a plucky adventurer might find a task or quest to help them on their way. This can be used as a tool for your own quests, but is also where the quests that appear in the Announcement Thread will appear, in game. It is generally manned by a strong group of quest-givers who can be found in the Adventuring Tavern.

Merry Robin Public House:

This is a pub full of all sorts of characters, and exists in a strange time loop. Drinking games, merry music and simple chatting can be found here, as well as the start of quests or the end of a long night. Certain characters of the town can be found here, although who is up to your creation.

Core Characters:

These characters are simple ordinary folk of Stonevale whom you can use whilst you are in this forum, either as a main character or a side character. They are stereotypes, with no set backstory, who can also be used to inspire you to try out new character ideas. Please see their Sticky Thread for descriptions.
