For fucks sake is right! Teachers have two jobs 1 to educate children, and 2 to keep them in good health during the school day! This POS teacher and school are doing neither.

Fair do's on that one teacher being trash. But then you came in with a ridiculous follow up that teachers in general are overpaid. Not having that, fella.

Well I'm not changing my opinion.

Teachers aren't paid nearly enough. I know far too many teachers that have to have a second job in order to make ends meet, because what they're being paid doesn't cover their bills. Added into that, the vast majority of teachers wind up supplementing their classrooms OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKETS because their school's budget doesn't give them adequate funding to better supply their classrooms.
I agree the teacher in question is doing an absolutely garbage job of taking care of her students if so many of them are being bullied and nothing is happening to the bully. I also agree that the school is doing a garbage job if they can't understand what "lactose intolerant" entails and make her eat dairy products anyway then blame the parents about potty training when they are forcing the cause of the issue.
However, like Gum I take serious issue with the idea that teachers in general are paid too much, because many of them (several personal friends are teachers) go without a number of things other people can afford because they aren't paid anywhere near what they're worth. No one goes into teaching for the money. Those that do, thinking it pays well, soon quit once they realize how crappy the pay is.
I'm also currently attending school to become a teacher, so the statement that teachers are paid too much bothers me on a personal level.
Well if you're gonna take it personal? You're gonna take it personal. But do not think this is an isolated incident, read the paper some time and you'll see my problems are mild compared to some students/families. On a personal level after 13 years of hell in public schools I can count 2 teachers out of over 50 worth their pay.
Further according to NCES Estimated average salary of teachers in public elementary and secondary schools, by state, 2012-2013 "The national average starting teacher salary is $36,141, while the average teacher salary in America (non-starting) is $56,383"
That's more than I make a year and way more than they deserve.
Telling somebody they don't deserve enough money to feed their family is kinda personal? Head scratcher that, isn't it?
Alright, so let's assume you're right (you're not) and imagine that the school system is full of dreadful teachers who don't give a fuck. You think that paying them less would... improve the standards???
?
?!
?!?!?
?!?!?!??!?!?!?
Of all the unjust money being made around the world, your hill to die on is the 30k teachers make?

Gripe thread, let the man complain and voice his frustrations. If it offends you, it is the ramblings of one upset individual out of nearly 7.5 billion. Hardly a reflection of the masses or a threat of change.
Take it with some salt and put it in the back of your mind. There are far more pressing matters in your day than internet opinions.
I feed my mom, girlfriend, her kid, pay off a mortgage, and student loans, and pay my monthly bills on less.
I'm just learning the rules... so you can gripe about absolutely anything you want, except another griper's gripe? Okay, got it! After this post I'll shut up, I promise.
And excuse you, don't be presumptuous. This is definitely the most important thing that's ever happened to me.
How much you're able to get by on has no bearing on what other people may or may not need, without even getting into what's fair and unfair.
I'd love to spend hours and hours reducing this argument to the fundamentals of resource distribution. But you're lucky. I promised Lye I'd shut up!
