    Freedom wing. -open.-

The thick taste of pure disappointment coated the celestial being’s pallet as she walked the streets. A frown tugged at her plush lips, darkening her angelic features. Bright green orbs watched as many children begged on the streets. Sadness enveloped her like a cacoon, diming her usually bright aura. Reaching into her pockets, she took out a few coins that she had been gifted. With her long legs she closed the distance between herself and the children, handing them each two coins. Their filthy covered faces lit up as they looked from her to the shiny coins in their dirt covered grasp.

“Thank you, Miss.” Each murmured their gratitude but didn’t stick around long after that.

She nodded, her crimson hair billowed in the spring breeze. The smell of wild flowers finally blooming after such a harsh winter perfumed the air. Tilting her olive tone face towards the sun she welcomed the rays as they sent warm kisses across her flesh. For a moment she almost forgot she was in a place, a sea of people that rudely pushed their way through the crowd. Stumbling slightly Divinity’s serene moment was broken as she had been caught in a wave full of pedestrians that were too blind to enjoy such a simple thing as the sun shining.

Sighing incontinently the angelic being made her way towards the forest, looking for a certain place to stretch her wings. Pursing her lips uneasily her gaze danced from one far end of the wooded area that towered over her as she drew closer to the other. The intricate tattoo of her wings on her back grew warm with anticipation. She could feel her skin start to vibrate with excitement. She hadn’t stretched her long, powerful wings in sometime, it was the equivalent of a warrior sparring after being wounded for a great while.

Divinity quickened her step as she was finally in the cover of the trees. The simple sundress she wore pressed against her like a second skin with the speed she was picking up. Her long legs carried her swiftly in between the large trunks of the trees. The smell of the forest comforted her, reminded her of the freedom she had been recently gifted. The discontentment she felt early washed away almost immediately. Her green eyes gleamed with happiness as she looked for a clearing, just small enough to allow her to take off so she wouldn’t get caught in the limbs of the trees.

It took her only a few minutes to find a space big enough for her to be able to allow her wings to unfold. Looking up towards the heavens she allowed the rays to wash over her and purify her. She felt the heavenly light of her wings transform from the tattoo that covered her back into large, pure white silky wings. They quivered with delight to be free as she stretched them out, allowing them to push back and forth.

A playful laugh parted her lips as she took a few running steps before her mighty wings lifted her off the ground. Easily she climbed toward the clear blue sky. The wind licked at her cheeks causing her to laugh once more. Her long, thick crimson locks flowed freely in the wind. As she flew higher, climbing the altitude with ease the air grew a bit chilled. She stopped for a moment, her huge wings flapped keeping her from falling. The beauty of the land below her almost took her breath away. She watched with great amazement at the land below before she allowed herself to dive quickly.

A gleeful cheer came from her, almost surprising her with how much pure joy she felt. She rolled, her wings folding around her as she spiraled towards the ground. At the last moment her wings uncurled launching her back into the sky. “By the Gods,” she laughed breathlessly.

She looped back around, gracefully landing back where she has began. She smiled, her chest rising and falling, her legs a little shaky from her flight. “Oh that was glorious.” She whispered softly to herself.

Lorenor carefully studied the red-head from his position in the city.

She was an interesting person...that was for sure. She can fly...she has wings. That would be perfect for my duty I have to fulfill. Better than waiting around for something to happen anyway. Lorenor thought to himself as he looked at the red-head with a strong expression of curiosity. Truth be told, Lorenor preferred men as bed-companions but when a celestial being showed up like that, all bets were off the table. His glowing blue eyes narrowed as he looked he looked at the girl when she landed back at the spot she started.

Lorenor stood up and began to walk towards her.

There were other adventures, other times...he'd met people with wings like that.

Some were sinister some were not.

The afternoon sun kissed the land below with it's eternal glow. Lorenor knew that the lands of Raiaera were war-ravaged from the remnant forces of a mad Necromancer. The land was recovering from that situation though and the people native to her boarders were in the process of rebuilding. Lorenor was a short and stout fellow, built like a tank. Built for soaking up tremendous amounts of damage and protecting allies. Protecting allies...that was a portion of his ancient Paladin's oath. The oath he'd sworn in the presence of Sei Orlouge. Back when he was another wretched Undead, struggling for the scraps from N'Jal. Lorenor looked at the girl with wings for a long moment.

"You have an interesting glow about yourself." Lorenor said. He was dashing and somewhat handsome for an Undead, impossibly old. His eyes had a fierce intellect about them and glowed blue. He had pale skin that was hidden beneath his heavy armour. He carried a heavy sword and shield as well. His armour was emblazoned with the marks of the Ixian Knights... an old guild that was no longer in any official record books of operation. However, Lorenor knew that old habits died hard. Lorenor noticed the girl had a particular scent...he couldn't quite place it but the scent reminded the old man of something else. Something he'd experienced a long time ago. The memory was there, haunting him but he left it unspoken. "Name's Lorenor, I'm one of those Paladin folks." Lorenor said with a soft smile. He looked at the girl and remembered his manners. "You must be hungry after that impressive flight just now." Lorenor nodded. "Would you like a drink or perhaps a meal?" Lorenor said carefully, inviting the girl out to lunch with him. It would have been nice to have some company for a change...

Divinity gasped, quickly turning around to face the being that has spoken. Her large, silky white wings dissolved back into the intricate tattoo that took up the entirety of her back. She shivered as the feathers melted into nothing but in, the wing tattoo stopping at the base of her spine.

Her plush lips parted slightly as she tucked a strand of her crimson locks behind her ear. “I am uncertain what a Paladin folk is but hello Lorenor of clan Paladin.” Her voice was soft, the sounds of bells tolling.

Her sharp forest green eyes washed over the being, she watched him closely having just been saved from an enslaving camp. Tilting her head slightly as she saw his armor but saw no sign of war. Glancing down at her own simple jade colored sundress the look of puzzlement masked her celestial features.

“Is there war about?” Her eyes darted from him to around the wooded area.

Charon had not spoke of a war, than again they had other things to worry about. Her face darkened with sadness as she had seen many of wars. Pointless greedy humans starving for more power or land. She clasped her hands in front of her.

He had asked her to dine with him, what a peculiar thing to ask a stranger. She studied him for a moment, the gleam in his eyes, she had seen it many times before. He was lonely, not the type of lonely that most men were that seek the company of a lover but one that wished to have a companion.

“Are you lonely, is that why you wish to dine with me? Do you need a companion?”

Her interaction with other beings was still foreign as she had spent years captured as a slave. She had only spent time with a few other living creatures but even then she felt odd.

Shaking her head she attempted again. “My apologies, I only mean why offer a stranger your time?”

Curiosity and suspicion swirled, mixing together as she had not wanted to come across ungrateful but also she was no longer naive thinking all beings were good. Pursing her lips she was certain that if he charged her she could use the power in her wings to push him back long enough for her to flee back to Charon’s flat, or even safety.

    Lorenor smiled as she spoke.

It was just as he'd reckoned it would...almost like that time with Urei. Lorenor...of clan paladin huh? He thought to himself as he kept the smile on his face. It was true that he held no personal clan or family ties to any particular clan directly. Save for the IK. Though that was ancient history. Lorenor kept his own eyes locked on hers. As he spoke, he spoke with a soft but heavily accented voice. It was somewhat of a gruff, Radasanth city proper dialect. But it would sound like an educated variant of common-speak.

Lorenor thought back to the teachings of Sei Orlouge. His answer was a simple one. "Because it is the right thing to do." Yes, those Paladin were a truly a daft sort of folk. Clinging to old ways and old chivalries long forgotten in that age. Loewnoe tapped his chin for a moment or two. "My instructor taught me it is the right thing to do if you must have an answer." Lorenor said truthfully. To Lorneor, Sei was more than just a friend and ally...he'd been a teacher and Father. His eyes narrowed as he stared at the girl. "Insofar as war goes one must always be prepared for any eventuality. It's how you stay alive when the chips come falling down." Lorenor said with that same calm voice. There was no aggression in the heavily armed Paladin, he simply liked to be prepared always.

"I know a good eatery near here if you still would like to come with me." Lorenor said.
