    Ogun

    Name: Ogun
    Age: 20
    Gender: male
    Race: dwarf/hybrid
    Hair: silver/purple dread hawk
    Eyes: hazel
    Height: 5’0
    Weight: 155
    Alignment: neutral

Personality: Ogun, while selfish in his ambition is generally fair in business. When focused he is methodical but oftentimes he can appear aloof when he is generally lost in thought. Most dwarfs find pleasure in tinkering and while he has an affinity for the craft he has always enjoyed researching the ruins of Raiaera and tracking the subcontinent's mystic beasts.
Outspoken and detail oriented to a fault, Ogun thrives in life or death situations and finds freedom in the most fleeting moments and he is smart enough to know that trait may hurt him in the future.

Appearance: While his lineage of dwarf has left his stature small but sturdy, his mixed blood left him more on the svelte side. As a dark skinned half dwarf he already stood out but his slender featured face and thick stocky body made him standout amongst others. Purple being his favorite color he chose that for his cloak and black for his boots and trousers.

History: Ogun was an orphan abandoned at birth and left to fend for himself, he was reluctantly saved by an Archivist of the library located in Ankhas. An odd looking child with the facial features of an elf or maybe a human and the rippled thick body of a dwarf, Ogun was an anomaly to his caretaker Don Carligua. Though Don figured the boy would be entertained with things of a mechanical nature in which he did find some joy, Ogun was drawn to books of history and stories of monsters that inhabit the surrounding land.It was never an issue to get him to help appraising documents or going over text because of his voracious appetite for information.

During his reading Ogun became familiar with the martial arts as well as the weapon, the spear. Though he liked to solve problems with his mind he had no problem getting physical and this led to him eventually leaving periodically to go find ways to test not only his acquired knowledge but his strength as well. In the city there was a region known as the bottomless pit and there the rough and tough along with the quick and cunning gathered. He took part in the arena in both armed and unarmed combat, sharpening his mastery of the spear and his love for the martial arts he read of. He drank at the bar questioning the molecular make up and viscosity of the lager that was served at the pub and he listened and took notes of all that came and went.

By 18 Ogun had mastered the art of the spear and javelin, he had read every book he found to be interesting in the library and had a good account of most business that occurred in Ankhas thanks to his patronship to the bar in The Bottomless Pit. He was as well read as any scholar in the city limits and as formidable with his weapon as a squad captain but he still sought more. What of the books and knowledge from the rest of the world? Would he ever see the places he read about? Could he become stronger? These questions consumed him and instead of becoming an artisan like other dwarfs, a soldier or even an archivist like Don Carligua the man who took him in, Ogun decided he would hunt relics, monsters and knowledge. He thought back to a tome he once read about the frozen north of Berevar, an uncharted arctic wasteland that the old gods were rumored to have fled to after the fall of paradise thousands of years prior. Included in this tale was the legend of the great spear Gungnir! This spear was to have been wielded by the gods and engraved with powerful runes on its blade giving the wielder immense control of the elements along with access to the nether.

While Ogun knew where he wanted to go, getting there was a different case entirely. The region located in the north was shielded by mountains, harsh weather, orcs and god knows what else. During his time taking notes in the bottomless pit Ogun overheard an imperial guard mention a shipment of goods to be flown to an undisclosed location in the north. He knew when and where the air ship would be leaving and he knew that was his best opportunity to leave the walls that he had always known in the city. “What should i bring”? He thought as he went over all his possessions up to that point. He had a large notebook that contained notes from thousands of manuscripts along with a spear he had fashioned out of wood and iron from the arena. Money was of no issue mainly because he looked to stough away on the vessel but he thought it smart to bring a medium pouch of gold, dried meat and as much lager as he could fit into his large sack. While he would miss Don Carligua he knew an archivist of his stature could only be so attached to a dwarf hybrid like him, so he left him a note saying “till next time”.

On the day Ogun left. everything seemed to go in good order. He left the library long before the sun rose and found his way to the air shipyard. Once there he noticed only one ship was scheduled to leave and found his way on with little trouble. Most airships operated with as few as two people and while he wasn't sure what was being delivered he knew there was little chance of him being found out. With his luggage in tow and a good seat he found in the cargo section of ship Ogun closed his eyes and went over his time in the city. It was soon after that he fell deep into sleep. A loud yell and a crash woke Ogun from his slumber. Though he couldn't see the outside from his compartment he knew by the appearance of his breath in front of his face that he was in the frozen region. He could hear the ship captain and vice talking to a rough sounding man outside about maximum occupancy and the need for rations but Ogun was not concerned, all he wanted was for the customer and the pilot to go about their business so he could make his way off the ship and they did. The voices grew fainter as well as the footsteps as they grew further and further away. This was his moment he thought, he just had to open the emergency latch and he was free. Grabbing his belongings He felt assured, maybe even confident, he pictured exploring ruins, finding treasure and meeting gods but to his surprise upon escaping the vessel he was not in a small town or village. He stared frozen in wonderment muttering under his breath”A castle”? Then as Ogun traced his eyes to the top of a sharp tower located in the center of the complex structure he noticed people and not just locals or merchants. These people were in chains and dressed similarly. Ogun while in disbelief was not thrown off. This would be the starting point of his journey to Gungnir.
