REGISTRATION COST

Since the implementation of Althanas Points (AP), it is now mandatory that applicants wager their AP as a means to enter official tournaments. This is to offset the cost of full judgments and staff work necessary to run the event. To enter this year's competition each member will agree to pay 5 AP to enter the tournament. By posting below, you are agreeing to this deduction after your armies have been approved and the tournament has begun.

RULES

By replying to this thread, your position is held out of the 24 slots. Registration opens on January 9th at 12:00AM CST. Any posts before then will not be counted toward active registration. Once you have posted here, create a new thread in the Armies and Factions forum detailing your army. Max Dirks or myself will review your submission and work to get it approved. Once approved, your registration will be complete and your army will be moved to the Army Archive.

Once registration closes, the number of approved armies will be evaluated. If there are less than 24 armies, the bracket will be scaled down to the nearest even number. This may mean an in-progress approval will be accepted after deadline using the posts below as a first-come, first-served method. Or, the last person to initially register by posting in this thread will be dropped if the number registered is odd and there are no pending armies. If the blank slot cannot be filled or army approved within one additional week, the odd man out will be dropped instead to prevent further delay.

No alts or duplicate entries will be permitted. Only one entry per writer across all accounts. Attempts to bypass this rule will result in disqualification and a 7 day ban.

FORMAT

Armies are permitted UP TO 10,000 units and 3 heroes. A player may agree to an army with fewer units.

Standard units should be no stronger than a level 3 player. Standard units are permitted one "special ability" per unit type. For example: Fire Mages have access to one fireball spell, Swordsmen could have increased resilience to wounds, Medics could heal minor wounds or stabilize one fatal wound, etc. There is no limit to how many factions your standard units are broken down into, but it will affect your approval process if your armies are overly complicated. For large sized units such as rams, ballasts, cannons, golems, etc these will count as 3 units each. They are also limited to the strength of a level 3 character, but possess the size capable of a clear tactical advantage over a standard soldier. Transports such as airships and naval ships will be discouraged. They may be used as in-thread plot devices to move troops, but not in any form of offensive capability (i.e. bombing runs, canon fire, suicide bombs, etc.). Standard units (including large units) are permitted gear up to steel in strength (or tier 2 materials).

Each army is also permitted UP TO 3 heroes. Heroes should be no stronger than a level 9 player. If you opt to use your character as a hero and they are over level 9, your character is permitted to play at its current level at the time of approval. If your character is under level 9, you are not allowed to scale them up for this tournament and must play them at their current level. For any heroes that are not your own character, they must not read any stronger than an average level 9. Hero characters (beside your own) are permitted up to 3 field abilities. Despite being permitted the maximum strength of a level 9 player, their ability sets are restricted to enable easier approval. It is then assumed that remaining strength is the difference in technical skill and power compared to the average soldier in terms of stats. Hero units are permitted gear up to delyn strength (or tier 4 materials).
