Appearance: It appears as a human wearing a cloak of the deepest black, and even the shadow of its cowl is impenetrable by light, save for two slitted, shining eyes that recently appeared. The only visible flesh is the hands, which are currenly a fair skinned elven set stolen from one of the slain.

History: It began as a gift from Xem'zund to Jade Vipress, a sentient portal in which to store the dead beasts she searched for. It served that purpose well, and acted on Xem'zund's behalf to orchestrate the search and ensure that they returned to aid in the battle for Eluriand.

During that battle, Xem'zund was wounded and the shadow began to dissipate, along with any hope of retrieving the powerful beasts from it. Vipress chose to make it her own in order to sustain it, and in doing so she gave it a name and what appears to be evidence of a personality.

Powers: In order to release the multitude of powerful beasts contained within, Mori'annon must pay a toll by consuming dead, nonresistant flesh. The flesh of the recently dead is prefered, but the incapacitated undead will suffice for summoning lesser beasts.

Mori'annon's capacity to hunt for flesh is solely dependant on the strength and proximity of its master. That master has complete control over undead summoned from within it.

Loyalty: Initially, it was a servant of Xem'zund, and occasionally took guidance from Vipress. After the naming, it appears to serve her instead, and gains power from her as it once did from Xem'zund. Since the necromancer has yet to return to the battlefield, it can't be determined where the stronger loyalty lies.

Trivia:
- Whether Mori'annon's nature as "a piece of Xem'zund's shadow" is literal or figurative is not known.
- Mori'annon showed clear signs of a hand fetish before Vipress took control. Therefore, some believe that the fetish is derived from Xem'zund, either consciously or subconsciously.
