The internet as you know it will end. Yes i said it, end. No, not the internet all together, just the way it is today.
Let me explain further...
The ISP's that control your internet want to change it. They want to make it so your intenet is like your tv; where you pay a certain amount money and you get a certain amount of channels, or in this case websites. You will only be able to access a certain amount of websites that are in your package and if you want more you have to pay more. Why is this bad you ask? because the ISP's partners are the ones that will get the channels, and all other websites wont. Meaning that all the websites that arent big, giant, mainstream websites with tons of money wont get any exposure. They will be cast aside because you will have to pay more to access there websites, and many people wont pay more. That is extremely bad because alot of the websites on the internet today barely make it as it is, so when the internet changes they will significantly loose there visitors. And with the cost of running a website they may be forced to shut it down. When theres millions of websites online (as there is right now), the effect will be devastating.
When and if the internet changes all your favorite (and alot of mine) will be forced to shut down. If thats not enough to catch you howbout the fact that you WILL have to pay more to get on Althanas. Lots of people wont be able to get onto Althanas anymore because they cant pay more, me being one of them. And I would surely hate to see Althanas go under.
Maybe your saying to yourself "well theres nothing I can do about it", but let me tell you now. THERE IS!!! This is a big issue that tons of people would care about if only they knew, all you have to do is tell them. There are websites devoted to fighting this, join one. Be like me and post on the forums of your favorite websites, if its a small website like this one your shure to get responses. Or when your sitting at the bus stop next to a creepy old man, tell him.
Some ISP's have already started planning this, and in some parts of the world it could start happening as early as 2010, so we dont have much time.
