History

Arc Archer (true)

Nothing special, brought up in a small village (which was normal in his times) he was a rather artistic fellow. He loved painting, composing, drawing and writing. In his younger years it wasn't uncommon that he set out on journeys to find "inspiration". He already had a fiancée by that time and was in the spring of his life. It was then when he discovered the blessing and eventually the curse of his life: The Flourishing Falls. He named the place himself for the first thing that cough his sight were the beautiful waterfalls from the high mountains filling the most lively lake he ever had seen. But that wasn't all, the whole environment here was one close to the heavens. Rainbows decorated the sky while the most rare flowers the earth. It was here were he decided that he and his wife would settle down. Animals were plenty here, not to mention water and fruit. It was a small garden of Eden. There even was a small nearby village where he could go in a ten minutes ride to buy other resources he would need. It really was the place of his dreams.

And as he planned he did. Together with his wife he lived many years in a not so small house (as room and wood was plenty) in this holy ground. He had many sons and daughters, and it seemed that his artistic talents improved ever since he got here, he himself believed that it was because of the bottomless inspiration source he lived in, but anyway he became a quite renowned artist and could afford allot of things that he didn't even dare to dream of fifteen years earlier. But if he would live this peaceful life until his death there wouldn't be much of a story to tell here, so obviously, the worst happened to him.

Gan-Eden was the source of this good. It was one of the elders bane weapons, forged with the now lost first magic a relic sealed deep in the earth by its former owner who lived through much drama because of the blade and tried to hide it from the world (As he was to weak to destroy it).

Even though it was sealed by over a hundreds of spells and spiritual locks, its powers leaked, and having the holy nature that it had, it gave life and beauty to its surrounding. But unfortunately a Shadow Priest was searching for this powerful weapon. After much trouble Micheal Enteinz managed to claim the hilt of the sword. The weather immediately turned for the worse, and all plants began to fall apart. Arc calmed his wife that it was only an earl winter, but deep in his heart he knew that something was coming. Not long after that a demon hunting cult arrived to kill Micheal Enteinz as well a very powerful sorceress (Rena Letiole) came to face the shadow priest. Each party was an enemy of the other and a great battle royal commenced. In the first moments the village in which the battle took place was incarnated. Although the clan brough their most powerful members to kill the corrupted priest (where one of those members was a very strong enemy to fear on your own) he managed to slay them all with the help of Gan-Eden. The blade exceeded its myths by far which already told that the blade had unmatched power. The battle continued and came closer and closer to the house of family Archer. In the end Rena managed to trick Enteinz and victory was hers. Realizing his mistakes Micheal decided to go away with a bang (actually he hoped to take Rena with him) and released the full potential of the blade in a self destructive attack. Right about then Arc came outside and bumped into the priest. The blade erupted with light, and exploded with a noise so loud that the echo still echoes through the death sand that is left of the once beautiful lake. Arc was so close to the blade that he got hit with more that the maximum of the blow. The attack first scorched every of his senses and then burned deep into his soul. His body evaporated but his consciousness reminded for a few moments as it was filled with so much magical energy. He could see his family die (even though he was blind) and Rena escape. This is how Arc Archer ended his life.

Arc Archer (familiar)

Because of his very direct contact with Gan-Eden the blade left a inerasable scar in his soul, and because the Dark Priest destroyed the sword in his final move, the sorceress Ren Letiole had decided that the best way to attain the sword was to summon the man as her familiar. He was returned to life, or rather copied to life. When summoned the man was blind, deaf, he couldn't smell, feel or taste anything. The weapon ravaged him of all his senses. He did have his memories from the battle however and remembered that pain he had. However he didn't know whether the memories of the true Arc Archer are true or not. Maybe Rena artificially created those to fill in his blanc memories? By her long rituals he was gifted to summon a reflection of his soul to the world, in which case he would be able to summon Gan-Eden (the rest of his soul was empty as it was completely destroyed by the sword). He was trained in the hard to learn and took a long time, however eventually he had mastered it. However at the end of his training and when he was about to get useful his master got killed and the moment before her death she let him free into the world, knowing or rather not knowing whether he really existed or was just a creation made by her. He doesn't age, so that moment was actually over six hundred years ago.

Micheal Enteinz

A very powerful shadow priest in his times. The fact that he could draw the blade and use it to its fullest says enough about his strength. He wanted to obtain Gan-Eden for supreme power over all other magical beings. He was chased by the demon hunter clan, but he actually lost their trail. From the moment he heard about the weapon he immediately set out to take it. The blade was carefully watched over by the clan and the moment that he touched it, the clan was alerted. At the same time an old enemy of his suddenly appeared in the battle, an mid aged looking sorceress named Rena. She was the master of familiars, where a normal magician would have maximally five, she had hundreds and hundreds. Even though she also was an enemy of the clan, the clan focused on Micheal. Even though he was very powerful with Gan-Eden, fighting against twenty A-leveled magician is hard. Eventually he wins, but then Rena traps him with her hundred familiar sealing technique. In the end it's revealed that the whole event was planned by Rena. She wanted the sword, but on her own she couldn't take it (because of the powerful seals placed on the weapon and of the guarding clan), but now Micheal had to fight them and Rena could take what was left. But she underestimated Micheal in the end, who decided to release the potential energy in the sword which took everyone's life around it (including Micheals). Every since he made a few friends, under whom an enchanter who made him plugs and glasses with whom he can hear and see colours only (which he can't see with his "sense" abbility)

Rena Letiole

Rena managed to summon her most powerful familiars in the last moment to take the blow for her, and even though she did this, she took several grave and unhealable wounds. Being in the need of time, as her many enemies would use the opportunity to defeat her while she was weak, she summoned Arc as a familiar to get the sword. But with time she realized that this was futile and that even if she would manage to control the blade (Arc could only control it now because it was a mirror created in his soul) she wouldn't use it to its full potential because of her wounds. Micheal Enteintz managed to defeat her in the end. Knowing her end was near, she released the familiar just before her final battle. Whether she faced the enemy or just decided to hide from now on is unknown.

Abilities

Mirror Soul

The only ability this warrior has is the ability to summon a world which is a reflection of his soul.

Mirror Soul (half)
This is the incomplete form of the ability and is always activated. It has been mastered to the degree that it costs no spirit at all. Arc Archer summons a mirror version of the world, which only overlaps the current one. Which means that the air in this world is the same as in the mirror world. Because in this mirror world Arc can summon Gan-Eden (and only Gan-Eden as the blade burned everything else apart) The closer he summons the sword the shorter the actual summoning time is. Also thanks to this ability is Arc able to "sense" everything around him, as he knows his world in and out, and if it overlaps the real world, he can feel anything that happens in the overlapped area as well. There is no real boundary of the overlapping, but the effect works like light. The further away from the source, the weaker it is. After 50 meters the effect is minimal.
The swords he summons are mirrors of mirrors, therefore are actually just vague sources of light. This gives the advantage that the enemy cannot guess the length and strength of the blade (or even if this is a blade or not, it can be a spear or hammer)

Mirror Soul (true)

Here he truly summons the world, whether he takes the enemy to his world, or bring the world into ours is vague, but here can he summon the true (mirror) Gan-Eden. He also can summon a infinite amount of these mirror versions.

Skills

Mastery of the weapon Gan-Eden
(give him any other weapon and he won't know how to use it)

Weapons

Gan-Eden

Gan-Eden was actually just allot of very condensed holy energy together, not having a form nor name. However when the people began to see it as a sword it took the neutral shape of it when seen by humans. When used by the correct person it can change its shape during battle to the users will. The energy can be used to push and pull, to cut and bash, but also to morph it into a beast which would fight on its own. However this sword required a very great amount of spirit from the user, and that's why it could only be used by the strongest magicians and hero's. Also when taking a material shape, allot of the energy is condensed into that form, so if you'd change that into pure holy energy the whole weapon would evaporate in one big bang (just as Micheal did) creating the most powerful attack, but also destroying itself.

Gan-Eden (mirror)
The blade that is summoned by Arc is exactly the same as the original except for the capability that Arc can use it. (Ff it was the real deal he wouldn't even be able to touch it, however since this is a copy made from his soul, the threshold is much lower.) The differences are that if Gan-Eden is summoned it cannot be massively manipulated, however during its creation it can be morphed into any form that Arc wishes it to be. The holy energy can be however controlled by Arc to a certain degree. He can control the energy and morph it into energy beams - smaller swords - cuts and pulls. The sword also enchants the survival abilities of Arc, as well his speed, accuracy and agility.
A leather armour on his chest and some enchanted glasses and earplugs with whom he can hear and see colours (nothing else) with.

Hey there Mikado, welcome to Althanas and the Tournament of Champions!

While I have a strong feeling that you won't powergame, there are a few points I'd like you to limit.

He also can summon a infinite amount of these mirror versions.
- I'm guessing you mean an infinite number of Mirror Gan-Eden can be summoned at once? If that's the case, then this can't be allowed. If you just mean he can summon another Mirror Gan-Eden if the one he's using somehow breaks, then okay. I'm also guessing that Arc will never summon the true (not mirror) Gan-Eden.

I'd like you to limit the range of things the Gan-Eden can turn into to reasonable shapes. No building, no 5-ton elephant, no rail-gun, etc. Basic weapons and items only (and if it turns into a beast, nothing bigger than a horse). If he uses the Gan-Eden to shoot energy beams, then he's limited to two moderately powerful beams per post, or one strong beam every two of your posts.

Mirror Soul (true) confuses me. You say Arc can't use anything but the Mirror Gan-Eden anyway, yet you say that he can summon the True Mirror Gan-Eden after using the True Mirror Soul. If you actually do summon True (not a mirror) Gan-Eden, then you'll have to limit the time he can use it to two posts before his soul world dissipates.

And though they can't exactly guess it's length or strength, your opponents should still be able to dodge Gan-Eden when they can. Also, Gan-Eden can be as strong as Delyn.

The sword also enchants the survival abilities of Arc, as well his speed, accuracy and agility.
- 3x the speed, and 2x the accuracy and agility of a human should be alright.

Confusing yourself much? Nevermind.

True Mirror Gan-Eden isn't the same as True Gan-Eden. The difference between a Gan-Eden mirror summoned in True Mirror Soul and Half Mirror Soul is that the half ones are vague weapons nothing resembling the Gan-Eden, while the True Mirror Gan-Eden is a perfect mirror of the sword (limited ofcourse to Arc's soul capacitity as described in Weapons (Gan-Eden [mirror]).

Also I got two other questions: Is the tournament OOC or IC? And why are is the check on on characters so strict while the scoring is mainly based on writing skill and not character design and IC use.

The second quote was in case my initial guess (first quote) was wrong.

In any case, you've not made any of the changes yet, but I'll assume you'll take them into consideration when writing.

And the tournament is scored on IC writing. Why we care so much about balancing characters, however, is that some people use their abilities to such an extent that it substantially influences other people's scores. The balancing is meant to give every participant a chance of weaving an interesting battle that's not one-sided. Overly powerful characters have a tendency to lead to the same general outcomes, something we are doing our best to avoid.

In any case, all powergaming attempts will be noticed and dealt with accordingly (by a docking of score). The above suggestions are to help you avoid slip-ups, but I'm certain you will play Arc in a reasonable matter.
