Creating a Group
Registration Basics:

Anyone can register a Power Group at Althanas, but there a 100 GP charge for doing so. Power Group registration can be posted in the Character/PG Registration forum in the Realm of Greeting with the following information:
  1. The name of the group.
  2. The group’s leader and membership roster.
  3. The group’s in-character location, if any.
  4. The group’s goals and purpose.
  5. A link to the group’s website, if applicable.
  6. Who is helping pay the registration fee, if anyone.
This can be done in any format you desire. Try to make your Power Group's motives as interesting as possible, and keep them original, just like you would that of a character.

After creating your PG, you may conclude registration by taking the following steps:
  1. Access the Power Groups listing and click on the link at the bottom "Create a New Group."
  2. Enter your group's name and a description including its goals and purpose.
  3. Choose a group type. "Public" will allow anyone to enter. This is not recommended. "Moderated" will alert you whenever a member is requesting admittance and allow you to confirm or deny their request. Finally, "Invite Only" will not permit anyone to attempt to join; instead, you must personally invite the individual. Either of the two latter methods are recommended.
You may also create a treasury account according to the rules found in The Gilded Vault.

Once these two steps are complete and your group has been approved, you may proceed with any type of clan activity that you choose.

PG Continental Rules

Power Group’s have always had a rather whimper and burn out feel to them. Ultimately the purpose of such groups has become something that the players wish to influence ICly, but in the end feel out of their league in trying. Battles like the Bazaar War do not happen anymore, and I feel it’s because the canon quality of the site has become intangible to the players. They don’t write anything that could effect the Canon, because they’re afraid it’ll get ignored.

Well no more.

Now my friends it is time for Power Groups to rise up from the Ashes. It has come time to finally spread your wings, and let the world tremble before your awesome might. Now the time for failing stories, because the regions do not change is over. Change is on the horizon, and the whispers on the wind mean that you hold absolute power.

The changes are simple, I’ll explain the major changes, and then from there we will explain how this affects the rules already in place.

1) All Power Groups must declare an affiliation with one of Althanas’ Major Continents. This doesn’t mean that you work for this continent’s government, this doesn’t mean that you have to like the continent, or that you must always remain on this continent, you merely are declaring the location of your Power Group’s headquarters.

2) Create a description of your bases’ layout, including defenses and whatnot. This is important, because events in the various regions will now affect PG’s on a more real level. If you’re robbing from a government, expect them to start sending legions out searching for your home away from home. Keep in mind that only a minimal amount of defenses are going to be allowed. You’ll have to purchase more through your Power Group Treasury.

3) You will begin contact with the Regional Moderator of your area, and commit to a plan of action. Work with them on setting up your Power Group in the area, and what goals you would like to accomplish. These can be as trivial as get a contract to fight for said government, or as extensive and political coup. Whatever you decide on, make sure that the Regional Moderator is behind your choice, and is willing to work with you on it. We’re allowing you to affect canon in your region, with that comes an acceptance and responsibility to that regions moderator.

That’s awesome Tainted Bushido! Really, now we have DA POWER! What does that mean for rules like Power Group Wars and whatnot?

Real simple, Power Group Wars are no longer about just Power Groups. Sure, your group’s goals may include other Power Groups within it. Sure other Power Groups stand in your way, but a PG war can be as simple as war on a region, in which case the defenders may be unaligned members or even other Power Groups, or it may be against another Power Group vying for the same goals.

Does that mean they have to be? No of course not, you can have a Power Group war for the normal reasons as well as now these canon reasons.

Current Power Groups should declare their affiliation shortly in a thread designated for such a task. We shall separate the affiliations on a master list so that power groups can see who potentially offers them a problem. In addition a summary of your headquarters should be given along with your affiliation.

Note: This does not mean every power group gets a headquarters and the benefits of a recognized headquarters. This means you have a base of operations. The Rewarded HQ’s do not change in rules, though their applications may vary.

Also note that you are NOT limited to influencing one region. With work, you can set up a branch on other continents, and eventually rule the world!*

Rules Disclaimer

The PG Rules are designed with fairness in mind. They were not designed to cope with every situation, and there may even be situations where the rules as-written interfere with the principles of fairness.

Moderators involved in PG arbitration therefore reserve the right to suspend the rules at any time in the interest of fairness, and will always strive to adhere to the spirit of the law even where its letter is off the mark. In the same vein, a constant attempt will be made to discern where the rules as laid out here may be written better. As such, the moderators reserve the right to amend these rules at any time or invent new rules as situations change.

*Ruling the world is not guaranteed. This is based purely off the dreams of megalomaniacal people who match your demographic and age range. Not valid unless authorized by your local moderator. Not valid without proper license and identification. Not valid in 50 states and all recognized countries.
