    The HoW Mission Board

    Introduction

As the war between the Crown and Church rages upon the bloodied soil of Uroda, the very future of Salvar and it's denizens rests in your hands. It'll be largely up to the players during this chapter to determine who will manage to wipe out the opposition, take control of Knife's Edge and finally put the civil war in Salvar to bed once and for all. How can you affect the war? Easy! By completing missions for a specific faction, you can accumulate points for that particular faction and give them specific bonuses that will tie into the final battle at Knife's Edge.

Also, by completing quests with a definite impact on the war for either side can earn you recognition, rewards, and a chance to feed points to a faction as if you had just completed a mission. You see, the entire future of Salvar and the outcome of this long, bloody war is under your control.

Below I'll explain how you'll be able to contribute to the war in greater detail, rules for missions, and any other helpful information you might need.

    Winning the Civil War

Yep, it's true. Any member or player can determine the outcome of this civil war in a very direct way. Instead of having to thumb through quests and looking to find relevent impacts on the war made by players, I'm going to give you guys an ultimatium. The two factions that will be the focus on this chapter and the war will be The League of Salvic States and the Church of the Ethereal Sway which will be fighting for power and control of the entire country of Salvar.

Each faction will be awarded points for every mission or approved quest you and other players complete and judged will be held in a running tally. The first faction to reach 18 points will be declared the victor of the civil war and a thread will be opened up to enact out the climatic battle in which all players, those who've contributed and those who'll enter into the fray for the very first time, will be welcomed to join in and play both sides. The thread will remain open for approximately three weeks and afterwards will be closed with the shocking conclusion and the epilogue that will hint at some of the drastic changes in Salvar's immediate future.

There will also be bonuses awarded to either side specified by certain missions completed which can grant strengths or weaknesses to either faction in the coming battle. Things such as whether or not the League arrives at Knife's Edge in full force or something as simple as St. Denebriel finding that eureka moment that could give her and the Church the upper hand in the final battle. So, you see, the very nature of how this battle will be fought is in your direct control, so I'm hoping that you and other players can see just how important it is for your participation and interest in this pivotal chapter.

    Points for either faction will be awarded like this;

1 point will be awarded for every mission/AQ (Approved Quest) that is completed and judged with a score between 45-60.

2 points will be awarded for every mission/AQ that is completed and judged with a score between 61-85.

Finally, 3 points will be awarded for every mission/AQ that is completed and judged with a score between 86-100.

Again, the first faction to reach 18 points during the course of the chapter will be the victors of the civil war. So get off the sidelines and fuel the war effort! The fate of Salvar is in your hands!

    Points:

The League of Salvic States: 4

The Church of the Ethereal Sway: 0

    Mission Board Rules:

    The rules for the board are pretty simple and straight forward, and most of them will probably be similar to what you've seen in many other different kinds of boards. But, to make sure everybody is on the same page and knows what's expected of them here are the general guidelines for the mission board;

    1) One player on any one account may claim one mission for either faction at any given time. What this means is that only one player can participate in a single mission for either faction. Each player is limited to up to one mission from either the League of Salvic States or The Church of the Ethereal Sway, meaning you can essentially have up to two missions at any given time but it'll be one per faction. Should you complete the mission and have it judged, you'll be able to claim another mission.

Most players are regulars here, so by now a lot of us know your alternate accounts. Don't try to take more then your fair share and you'll have nothing to worry about. To sort of ease any questions in the future, I'll give you guys an example of what I mean. A player claims one mission for the ethereal sway on one account, and then he switches to another account and claims a mission for the League. This is allowed. Claiming one mission from both sides on multiple accounts is not. See the difference? So long as you are within the limit of missions you can have at any given time, you've nothing to worry about. Otherwise, given the limited missions below, be courteous to other players and give them a chance to contribute!

    2) The threads you make when playing out a mission MUST have the mission title as it's thread title. This makes it easier to track and keep records of rather then me trying to sit down and follow eight different oddball quests. It'll also seperate missions from conventional quests, making it easier to pick out in the coming weeks.

    3) All participants in the mission must remain active in that thread! Once you start posting in that mission, you have four days to put up each post unless otherwise noted. This means you need to post at least once every four days in order to keep your claim on the mission. There is probably going to be a waiting line for these things, and it'd be unfair if you were to claim one and end up never completing it. I and others will be keeping track of your activity with missions, so if you go over your time limit without notifying any of us, I'll free up the mission for someone else to grab. This time limit does not extend to Approved Quests.

    4) When requesting a mission, use the following format;

    Mission Name:
Faction: League of Salvic States or Church of the Ethereal Sway
Whose Claiming it: (Name all of those who will be participating in the thread, not just yourself).

    Getting A Quest Approved:

I mentioned earlier that you can earn points for either faction with not only missions but by quests that have been approved. What does that mean? Not much. The idea is simple. If you have a quest or story you think would have an impact on the war either locally or at large, you're eligible to get your quest sanctioned for points and even larger rewards provided you finish and have the quest judged. The subject matter of the quest is completely up to you, but all that I ask is that the quest have some sort of impact upon the civil war and the faction you are trying to give points to is clearly indicated in either the thread or in a note before you submit it for judgment.

    Approved quests will be given the power to award points to either faction provided they are completed and scored before the end of the chapter. Also, all approved quests will be given special rewards for your efforts and contributions as follows;

    1) All approved quests receive a 1.5x experience multiplier on top of the rest of the bonuses they would be getting for completing a quest in the FQ.

    2) All participants in an approved quest will be eligible for a random drawing for legendary items that were used during the chapter. This drawing and the details of it will be touched upon later in the chapter.

    3) All approved quests participants who score a 70 or above on their quests will be given a special prize depending on the outcome of the war.

    a) Should you have sided with the League and they end up winning the war, you will be given a parcel of land and the beginnings of a fiefdom that will be under your direct control. You will then be given status as a baron which will be reflected in a unique member title of your choice provided it has "Baron", "Noble" or "Feudal Lord" in it in some fashion. With a new fiefdom, land, and title under your belt you will be given the status to war with other nobles and build your fiefdoms, specialize it, and populate it in any way you choose.

The specifications of these fiefdoms and the land awarded to you will be unique from other fiefdoms that players/power groups will be able to claim in a future event in Salvar called 'Feudal Wars'. Be the first to get one!

    b) If you sided with the Church in your quest and they end up winning the war, you will be given a blessing from the Church themselves and be given patron saint status for the character you used within their gospels. The blessing will be an ability outside the confines of your level by up to two levels provided that it is approved by the RoG Staff (They will be informed of your reward, but keep it reasonable because in the end it's up to them as to whether or not it is approved. You will also need to have a disclaimer attached to that ability in your next update saying that it was awarded to you and where you got it).

Your status as a saint can be reflected in a unique member title of your choice with the word "Saint" in it and it'll be up to you to word it. You will also have access to certain things after the war that are unavailable to regular players in an event of the Church's new rise to power which can vary from anything between from a sect of people that worship you specifically or even having a church built in your name.

If you're interested in obtaining an approved quest, contact me immediately and we can talk it over. Remember, the approval of your quest depends entirely on how and what you choose to do to impact the war and that most of these rewards are reserved for those who finish and have their quests scored. The only exception to those rewards will be the random drawing for legendary items.

    Now onto the missions.

    The League of Salvic States

Any noble may join this alliance between fellow nobles to better rule their lands and people within Uroda. This group is given considerable power and influence over other nobles as well as a stronger, united voice in Parliament. It is led by an oligarchy of nobles known as the Vagarand. Since the Civil War, the League has been in turmoil as members are cut down and the Vagarand attempts to hold the League together long enough to crush the Church of the Ethereal Sway.
The League of Salvic States is an alliance of nobles in solidarity who work together under the leadership of a smaller group of some of the most powerful nobles in Uroda, The Vagarand. The League was formed under the idea of using their numbers, wealth and influence to both retain their control over the steppes and to expand their bases of power. While all nobles are considered loyal to the Crown, the League are truly what you would call royalists. While the Vagarand runs the organization, the King and the monarchy's well being has always been put before their own interests. But, what with his disappearance during the Long Winter, it has been up to the Vagarand to pick up the slack and restore order in the swirl of screaming chaos that has become Uroda.

As of now, the League is considered the extension of the Crown in this war, and with the King's abscence it'll be a true test of unity in order for this alliance to pull together and destroy the Church of the Ethereal Sway once and for all.

    Missions:

    The Long March

Synopsis: As the war rages on, the Vagarand has issued an order to all able-bodied members of the League to mobilize any military power they can muster and march upon Knife's Edge. One militant, despotic noble by the name of Baron Jerad Griswald leads his men on a harrowing journey across Uroda to enter the fray at the nation's capital. It is up to you and your party to see that this baron and his small army seek safe passage all the way to the Testhan Valley as guerilla forces of revolting peasants and agents of the Church continue to dog their every step. Eventually, Baron Griswald will have the opportunity to turn the tide upon his pursuers in an ambush that could mean the life or death of any member of the League treading upon the winding roads of Uroda.

    Important Figures in Quest:

    1) Baron Jerad Griswald - A diminuitive, bald man who exudes the rare presence of leadership, Jerad is one of the few barons in Uroda that could be considered a 'hard-liner'. He is Coronian born and originally served in the armies of Salvar's sworn enemy as a high-ranking officer, who eventually defected to Salvar. This has given him a far more intimate knowledge of military tactics and discipline that is considered almost unconventional for a person in the place of leadership in Salvar. He is a well grounded man in his early fifties and is of considerable patience. One of many barons you would be foolish to cross.

    2) Karl Ulrich - A former farmer and militia man, Ulrich is the leader of a group of peasants turned guerilla fighters called the "Wolfshead". His savagery has become infamous to those in the League and those of noble birth for the slaying of more then four different barons and the taking of their ears as trophies. He and his men have never yet failed in taking down a target and he has pioneered the use of guerilla warfare in order to chase his prey across the countryside of Uroda until they have exhausted too much of their energy or resources to fight back. Ulrich is a tall, muscular man in his early 30s with short, cropped black hair.

    Players: 1-3
Bonus: The roads within Uroda have become a much less dangerous place with Ulrich's death and the disbanding of Wolfshead. Therefore the League's forces spend far less energy and effort in moving their troops to the battle at Knife's Edge and focus more on the plans for war. The League of Salvic States will now be able to show up in full force in the battle, 'At the Edge'.

    Wearing Harigrad (Battle)

Synopsis: A slain baron's fiefdom is at stake as the League and the Church fight for control of this pivotal city and it's factories. Harigrad is one of three known industrialized cities within Salvar and has become coveted by military leaders for it's mass production of quality uniforms and armor that could clothe entire armies with the best armor available. While the League is represented by two barons and their forces, the Church intends to destroy the factories this city with the use of stealth and cunning rather then let it fall into enemy hands. You and your party will assist the League in their plight to fight off agents and saberteurs from jeopardizing the containment of Harigrad.

    Important Figures in Quest:
    2 Barons
1 Church Agent leading the saberteurs
(Up to you to decide what to make them.)

    Players: 2-4
Bonus - (The factories must still be intact upon gaining control of Harigrad in order for the faction to obtain this bonus.) - With ownership of Harigrad in the firm, capable hands of the League and it's factories rumbling once more, their troops can now be outfitted with the best armor and clothing any army could buy. All of the League's troops will be outfitted with Harigrad-made uniforms that will boost morale and uniformity, making their forces far easier to control and direct in the battle, 'At the Edge'.

Note: Both the Church and League version of this battle are considered one quest/battle/thread. Those of either side interested in this quest must coordinate their efforts to work in the same thread to play out the battle at Harigrad. The winner gets the points and the bonus corresponding to their faction.

    Bend the Iron

Synopsis: While the Vogruk-Stokes Trading Company is busy uniting the western coast by buying up small villages and land as well as gaining the loyalty of sympathetic coastal barons, they are also in the process of constructing an extension of the Alerar-Salvar Railroad that will break off from Knife's Edge and run along the entire Namirov Coast. Seeing a potential threat in the future if the Company is able to establish a permanent base of operations in Salvar, the Church has harassed the Company and it's workers in every effort to get them to abandon their project or forestall it at least until the Church can gain better ground.

For the first time during the start of the war, Vogruk-Stokes has issued a formal offer to the Vagarand and League members to aid them in their plight. An important shipment of materials for the new railroad will be coming from Alerar on train and it is suspected that the Church already knows the time and place of the supply shipment. It is up to you to aid the League in guarding and protecting this shipment aboard the train from the city of Damir in heart of Alerar all the way to the small Company town of Glosgow on the Namirov Coast. It is expected that the Church will make several attempts to derail this supply train, so be ready!

    Important Figures in Quest:

    1) Captain Igar Kreegan - A high-ranking Alerarian officer, Captain Kreegan has been commissioned by the Vogruk-Stokes Company to see to the welfare of the supply train. He is tall for a middle-aged dark elf, and Captain Kreegan is known more for his brutality to the enemy then he is for his leadership. Out of all of the people they could've chosen to safeguard their shipment to Salvar, the Company chose an officer who has been nicknamed the 'Butcher of Veriaz'. Captain Kreegan and his men hold firm control over the train to see it to it's destination, but he is at odds with members of the League who've also been compensated to protect the train.

    2) Sir Samil Cronen - A knight and vassal for a prominent Urodan baron, Sir Cronen has been put in charge of leading the League operation in protecting the supply train. A robust man in his later 40s with a habitual need for the drink, Sir Cronen is someone who has often been on the raw side of the battlefield and has a deep distrust for elves. His presence on the train will fuels Captain Kreegan's temper and the two are often heard in explosive arguments near the front of the train to the point that the two attempt to avoid each other at every cost.

    3) Josiah Lund - An agent and fanatical member of the Church, Lund has been charged with the destruction of the supply train and the disruption of the Company's coastal operation. He is a small, skinny man who has been scarred extensively from battle. Lund has an intimate knowledge of explosives and sabotage. He and his team will be boarding the train by horseback once it has safely crossed the Alerarian border.

    Players: 1-3

Bonus: With the arrival of the supply train in Glosgow, the Company can continue it's efforts with establishing a railroad on the Namirov Coast. For your efforts, the Company will be establishing key supply lines for the League during the battle 'At the Edge'. If you managed to kill Lund during the course of your mission, the Company will also be sending a shipment of weapons for League soldiers in the battle.

    Running the Wire

Synopsis: Arriving early at Knife's Edge, Baron Harold Krisgal and his men are charged with securing the gates of the capital city for the coming battle. With the Church and it's agents running rampant throughout the city, it doesn't take long for Baron Krisgal to entrench themselves in the outskirts of the city and establish the League's frontlines. However, as easy as it may seem for the League to place themselves they haven't gone unnoticed. No longer with the numbers capable of assaulting a fully-outfitted army of a Baron without heavy losses, the Church has instead decided to play coy.

Confusing the Church's inaction for ignorance of their presence, Baron Krisgal grows complacent and lowers his guard which will end up being his fatal mistake. While walking with low guard detail on the streets of Knife's Edge, Krisgal and his men are swarmed by Church assassins disguised as beggars and carried off to their doom. Without a leader, the chain of command within the League's frontlines begins to dissolve even before reinforcements have arrived. As the Church's assassins gear up and start to pick off more and more League soldiers who are without a leadership, it looks as if the battle is about to be lost before it even began. You and your party have stumbled across this plight and are under orders from an advancing baron to assume leadership and hold the lines until his arrival that are more then six staggering days away. Be on your guard, for the Church will step up their attacks upon you and League forces exponentially until the calvary arrives!

    Important Figures in Quest:

    1) Baron Josef Petrev - The baron who will charge you with gaining control of the frontlines of Knife's Edge. He is a short, bespectacled man who knows his way around a blade. In his early forties and looks to be developing the on set of stomach cancer as he looks to be bordering upon emaciation. He will issue you and your party a writ at the beginning of the mission that establishes your status of leadership in his stead while he prepares his forces to mobilize.

    2) Knight-Captain Gretchen Branad - The highest ranking officer on the frontlines upon your arrival. She is a robust, opinionated woman who'll be your advisor as you command the thinning forces in Knife's Edge. She is a redhead and looks to have seen the wrong side of a blade in battle with the scars upon her face. Branad has little tolerance for officers who can't carry their weight, so you'll have to try twice as hard to gain her respect given your honorary position.

    Players: 1-3

Bonus: With League forces entrenched at the gates of Knife's Edge, there is little need to focus on establishing frontlines and instead the League can work on divvying up forces for the coming battle. For your efforts, the League will no longer have to fight for entrance to the city at the beginning the battle 'At the Edge' and can instead start moving directly to their objectives.

    Eyes on Skavia

Synopsis: Word has spread to the higher echelons of the League that there have been disturbances at the fiefdoms of barons near the northern borders of Uroda. The activity has been limited to harassment and small raids, but what with the majority of nobles mobilizing their forces to move onto the center of Uroda, some are worried their interests might be in jeopardy when they enter the fray. With barons becoming increasingly worried about the stakes of their own personal interests, there is a real threat that it might undermine the focus of those commanding the League's forces with the coming battle. You've been requested to accompany a group of seasoned scouts on a reconissance mission along the borders of Uroda.

There hasn't been much to go on with information other then the attackers are most definitely Skavian and from tribes of once peaceful barbarians. As you delve deeper into the surrounding mystery, it becomes apparent that these small raiding parties are really part of a larger horde of barbarians calling themselves 'Unr Berirung'. They have been testing the limits of the barons for sometime now and it seems as if an attack is imminent that scales to levels of invasion given the circumstances.

With the intel in hand, you must race back to Testhan Valley to pass along your report as you're pursued by a small raiding party of barbarians who've caught onto your objective. You have one month to meet your objective and return with your party before the beginning of the battle at Knife's Edge and any hope of an early warning of a coming invasion upon Uroda becoming moot.

    Important Figures in Quest:

    1) Erik Lloyd - A local Urodan who is loyal to the Crown and sympathetic to the League, Lloyd has served as a calvary scout for over a year. Even before then, his history with military operations even when within a militia has given him a great deal of experience as a scout. A seasoned hunter and backwoodsman, Lloyd has an intimate knowledge of scouting and observation making him a key ally in this mission. He will be leading the scouting party to the northern border and working with you on reconissance. As of now, he is in command of three other scouts all of which he has trained and outfitted personally with funding from the League. Lloyd is in his mid-thirties, tall and of medium build.

    2) Baroness Maya Voyler - Running a small outpost less than a few miles from Testhan Valley in the town of Liam, Baroness Voyler has acted as Erik Lloyd's liaison to the League. Operating the outpost as a small garrison, the Baroness has established a key strategic area for the League. Having used it as a meeting point for all of the League's scouts for the past eight months, the Baroness has been nicknamed 'Mother Owl' by her underlings. Baroness Voyler is of small build and is pale as ivory while she crests into her early 40s. If there's one baron you could possibly count on to be reliable when no other one is, Voyler is it. She will be the one you receive your orders from and the one you will eventually give your report to.

    Players: 1-2

Bonus: For your efforts, an early warning of Unr Berirung's invasion of Uroda will be called out to League forces at the end of the battle, At the Edge. Most of the League forces will be able to withdraw from Knife's Edge and set up preliminary measures of a defense against the horde should the League win the battle and it'll greatly alter the League's fate in the epilogue.

    Let Them Eat Chow

Synopsis: With all the confusion and chaos within Uroda, the League has dipped into their coffers and turned to foreign companies for supplies. With the battle at Knife's Edge approaching, the League sent an order two months ago for rations to feed their troops for at least three months if it turns into a battle of attrition. While it takes considerable time for supplies to arrive by sea, these rations should've arrived at the port of Brann weeks ago. The League has heard reports of the Church hiring local peasants to pirate and pillage the western coast to interfere with operations such as these. The League has charged you and your party with a ship to try and locate these rations before the battle begins. The baron who appointed you this mission has given you a month to complete it.

From what has been gathered by the locals so far, there are three ships that have been going from port to port around the Namirov Coast trying to sell military-grade rations at the local markets. At the start of your mission, there will be an opportunity to trail one of these suspected ships, the Looking Glass, back to it's hideout to try and recover the supplies while questioning the enemy for more information on other potential locations. In order to complete the mission, you must find all three ships and their supply caches in order to return the remainder of the rations over to the League. The ships are as follows; The Looking Glass, The Grey Isle, and The Flotsam.

    Important Figures in Quest:

3 Captains and Crew for the Looking Glass, Grey Isle, and Flotsam. (You make them up however you want.)

Captain George Weiss - Captain of the Red Wake, Weiss has served as a vessel for the transportation of goods during times of peace and has been using his ship since the outbreak of the war to ferry the sick and injured out of harm's way and to more neutral areas like coastal ports and towns. Contracted with the League for this mission, Captain Weiss will accompany you while you pursue these three ships in your search for the rations. Captain Weiss is in his late 40s, of short stature and robust build. He maintains a high respect from the sailors who've worked with him over the years giving his ship a graceful appearance as he and his crew work fluidly to roll across the sea.

    Players: 1-3

Bonus: With the rations retrieved after the majority of the footwork and investigation being done by you, the League has taken them and shipped them off to Knife's Edge for it's troops. For your efforts, all troops during At the Edge will be well-fed and be able to sustain themselves the entire battle with their newly retrieved supplies. Even if some of the rations taste like they were made from bricks.

Because of this, the Church was allowed to expand throughout Salvar, preaching it's gospel and the ways of The Ethereal Sway. This was accomplished largely through a law passed by King Iorlan ordering his nobles to place a church within their fiefdoms allowing the Ethereal Sway to conduct their religious services and keep a watchful eye over the local government.
    Fickle Fate

Synopsis: After slaying the ledgerkeeper of a baron over a game of cards, a man by the name of Jon Hanig has unwittingly made off with an important piece of League intelligence. The intel contains the names and locations of supply houses and impromptu garrisons in Knife's Edge that could be used during the battle at Knife's Edge. If the intel were to fall into the hands of the Church, there is no supply house in Knife's Edge that could be considered secure or safe for the League to occupy while in the capital city. It is up to you and your party to find Hanig first before the Church does or Hanig realizes what it is he has in his hands.

    Important Figures in Quest:

    1) Jon Hanig - A young sailor whose always looking for that next opportunity to get rich quickly, Hanig is the last person you'd trust to have on your boat. He has been fired or chased off of every ship he's been hired on for stealing anything that isn't nailed to the floor. That being said, Hanig isn't exceptionally bright but possesses a fair degree of cunning when the opportunity arises. He's twenty-four years old, of small build and knows his way around a knife. The one discerning feature outside of his rust-coloured hair would be a scar that runs down the side of his face.

    Players: 1-2
Bonus: Should the ledger be brought back to the higher echelons of the Church, no building in Knife's Edge will be considered safe. During At the Edge, every League supply house and garrison will be rigged with various traps and ambushed. Because of this, fear will strike League forces breaking morale and causing their advance into the city to slow to a crawl, allowing for more time to plan a better defense.

Synopsis: While the small town of Idun appears as quiet and unassuming, beneath the surface it is broiling with unrest. Under League occupation, the town is a key supply point and on one of the three quickest roads to Testhan Valley. Tired of soldiers from the League living in their town while bearing little respect to it's customs and religion, the citizens feel the soldiers have outstayed their welcome. However, being of high strategic value, it's unlikely the League will move on from Idun until after the war.

Meanwhile, a local religious leader known as Father Brinnal has been becoming more fiery with his sermons for the last couple of weeks. He is advocating the total removal of League forces from Idun and argues that the only ones that will be able to do it are the citizens themselves. The preacher is growing more and more influential every day and it has already been reported from spies of the Church that townsfolk have met with Company merchants to buy weapons. It'll be up to you and your party to see that this 'unrest' flares into a full out rebellion to dishevel any foothold the League has on the town. Support Father Brinnal's bid for power and work with the citizens of Idun in their revolt to show the people of Uroda that they don't have to bow down to the League.

    Important Quest Figures:

    1) Father Brinnal - A short, rust-haired preacher, Father Erald Brinnal is considered by many of Idun to be the voice of the people. But, to those outside of his spheres of influence he comes off as a fiery demagogue with delusions of grandeur. He may not be sympathetic to the Church or it's cause, but he likes the League even less. He is of small build, in his late thirties and has a heart condition that has crippled his ability to move long distances without rest.

    Players: 1-3
Bonus: With the revolt successful and the League withdrawing it's soldiers from Idun as it boils over into chaos, you've put a major dent in their supply lines. Having lost the only town within twenty miles of Testhan Valley's northern edge, the League is forced to reorganize how they'll ferry supplies which will cost considerable time and money. For your efforts, the League will no longer receive supplies during the battle At the Edge until an effort is made by those on the side of the League to re-establish the supply lines.

If you managed to keep Father Brinnal alive and put him in power during the rebellion, word will spread to other sympathetic towns under League occupation of your heroic efforts and begin the cycle anew. For accomplishing this goal, the League will no longer be able to peacefully occupy a town within fifteen miles of Testhan Valley. They'll have to rely on brute force to remain where they are which kills morale and support of the League's cause.

    Taking Back the Night

Synopsis: With the coming battle at Knife's Edge only weeks away, the living conditions of the capital have already begun to deterioate. Already there are League soldiers establishing a perimeter around the walls of the city while they await the arrival of their armies. Members of the Church and citizens of the city haven't taken well to this and have done everything they could to halt or stop their efforts. Because of this, in the wisdom of League officers they've established night patrols around the outer districts of the city to protect their interests.

While normally a typical military practice, there are patrols that have actually been rumored to rove around the city and harass/assault those unsympathetic with the League's cause. Fights have broken out and it has gone so far as to have a spike in murders that League officers are turning a blind eye to. There are three patrols in the dead of night that are responsible for these incidents and it's up to you and your team to coordinate a simultaneous attack on all of them at once to remove them as a current threat to Church operations.

It is to be remembered that this assault on these patrols must occur all at once, and that each of them patrol a different section of the city. The reason for this is that League forces have discovered a way for their patrols to keep tabs on each other. If one is in trouble, the other two will be quickly doubling back to provide reinforcements which is far too much for the resources and the men you have at your disposal to take all at once. You will be given a bundle of dynamite and a team of five members of the Church to work with as you please, in the end it'll be up to you to coordinate and plan the ambush.

    Important Figures in Quest:

3 Patrols of League Soldiers (You decide what they consist of, but all three patrols must be capable of overpowering you and your forces if you fight them in one big group.)

    Players: 2-4

Bonus: With the more colorful of the League's night patrols systematically eliminated, the streets have grown quiet once more. For your efforts, the League must now double up security when moving from their frontlines for any reason as the city has now been declared as a hostile zone. This allows for slower movement and fewer groups of soldiers roaming the city for any reason, letting Church spies to successfully plot and record troop movement and routines.

This'll come in handy during At the Edge when the Church must use these findings to allow agents safe passage behind enemy lines so they can organize more crucial assaults and sabotage on League forces.

    Wearing Harigrad (Battle)

Synopsis: League forces are attempting to capture the city of Harigrad, the famed industrialized fiefdom of a fallen baron. It is known for it's production of the finest uniforms and armor that any army could buy, and the League is scrambling to take control of it's factories now that the baron who ruled it has been murdered. It is crucial that the League doesn't gain control of these factories and it'll be up to you and your team to sabotage these factories to blow using stealth and cunning.

There are currently two Barons and their armies coordinating their efforts in taking the city and time is running out fast. You don't have the manpower to take these armies head on and any major discovery of your efforts to destroy the factories by the League will jeopardize the mission. Remember to utilize stealth and cover in the battle and use the rifles* and explosives to your advantage.

*Must be old style guns before 1900, low caliber, not automatic and each rifle bears nine rounds. You decide what they are. Failure to comply to these standards will result in an automatic failure of your mission, though the use of these rifles is entirely optional.

    Important Quest Figures:
    2 Barons
1 Church agent leading a team of saboteurs (You decide on what to make them)

    Players: 2-4

Bonus: With the destruction of the factories in Harigrad, the city's strategic value in the immediate future has been neutralized. The League no longer has any interest in this area and is unable to provide a common uniform for it's soldiers before the battle, At the Edge. For your efforts, the League's forces will be largely uncoordinated during the battle at the capital and the Church will be able to use their clunky maneuvers to their advantage.

Note: Those who claim this quest will have to work with those in the same thread who have claimed the League version of this quest. This is a battle between League and Church forces so you will be pitted against each other with your respective objectives. The winner will be determined based on score, though what you do to achieve your objectives, if you decide to will factor into the bonus/points the Church gets. Good luck!

    Sewer Rats

Synopsis: With the battle of Knife's Edge quickly approaching, the Church is scrambling for a way to regain it's footing before the League descends upon the capital. The Clergy has ordered you and your team to move to Knife's Edge's sewers and to sabotage key areas of the city with explosives from underground to be used strategically during the battle. The order has fallen on you to plant these this explosives under Parliament, Royalist barracks in Rathaxea Square and some of the walls surrounding it. Other teams will be working around the city to rig explosives at random targets to maximize the chaos and panic that'll ensue once they are discharged.

    There has been word of League getting notice of Church activity within the sewers, so there are patrols moving in and around your objectives. It is up to you to either avoid or stop them from interfering with your task. In all, you have nine explosives you must plant;

2x - one underneath each of the fortified walls surrounding Rathaxea Square.
4x - one underneath all key structural supports of Parliament.
3x - one underneath each barracks of the Royal guard in the Square.

    Players: 1-4

Bonus: With all of the explosives rigged to blow at the push of a button, you have successfully given the Church both a means to achieve their overall objective and a potential exit strategy. For your efforts, during At the Edge the Church will be able to systematically blow up buildings of key strategic value to the League as well as others throughout the city. This will induce a panic and if timed right will cause any further movement within the city by League forces to halt, if only temporarily.
