Can y'all help

How are y'all. Ok am having a bit of trouble. The Lat 2 threads that I have posted have had several views, but no replies. Now I have been on althanas for awhile. I am more of a general conversation type and I have never really run into this issue. What I was wondering is this. Is there any way that y'all can review the last 2 that I have posted and tell me if y'all can see any thing that is wrong with them. I have included the links to all 2.

It's not so much that anything is necessarily wrong with your posts, but it is just taking people a while to actually formulate their own solutions to your problems. I know this because I've had someone contact me about responding to it as well. You just have to give it a little time, and if nothing else, I'll give them both a decent little read and respond sometime this coming up week.

I would be the one that told him I was planning to reply. I held off on the first one because I'm not sure I'm the appropriate person to give you advice on your personal life. I'm fairly certain it isn't a lack of interest thing so much as people being unsure what to tell you. Your situation sucks, but I don't think anyone on Althanas will be able to give you any advice that will fix anything. That said...I'm going to try...

My first bit of advice would be to do some research about what kinds of programs there are for single pregnant women wherever your ex lives. I know in Alabama and Texas there are tons of state programs to help with medical bills, food costs (this will be a lifesaver if you use formula), and housing. If she can qualify (she should if she isn't working, though I think most public housing requires you to have some sort of job) that will at least help her get somewhat settled.

Next thing, I know you want to be near her and your future child, but you won't be any good to anyone without a way to support at least yourself. Take your time, save your money, then take a trip to wherever she is and look for a job. I have a friend who moved his whole family across the country, spent every penny of his savings and then had to move them all back when he realized he couldn't make it there. Its a crappy situation and only hurt the family he was trying to help.

Third, When my husband and I had our first son I was eighteen, working a minimum wage job. He was 21, a daytime bartender, and neither of us had anything. There were times that it totally sucked, but our son never knew that we did without. It took a lot of hard work to get us to a point where we can honestly saw=y we are doing well, but we are there. It takes a lot of time, but don't give up, you can and will make it.

Basically there isn't anything I can tell you that isn't common knowledge. This whole thing is going to be really hard and its going to suck at times, but kids make everything worth it. Just keep your head up, don't make any rash decisions, and take it one day at a time.

This is going to sound a bit harsh, but I'm seldom one to sugarcoat stuff, so here it goes.

There's a good chance that people don't care. Everybody has shit going on in their life, and someone's is hitting the fan and someone's isn't, but we all have our load of it to deal with and oftentimes that's bad enough. On top of that, people might feel that they are ill-equipped to advise people in situation such as yours. If your car is leaking oil, you go to a mechanic or roll up your sleeves and try to do it yourself. If your toilet is clogged, you call a plumber or roll up your sleeves and try to do it yourself. If you're having a baby with an ex-fiancee who is a thousand miles away and you have a sticky situation in your family... Well, shit, I don't know what you do, but I'm pretty sure that going to an internet website dedicated to pastime writing of fantasy isn't going to solve your problems. You might get a symbolic pat on the back and an empty word of reassurance, though, but I deal in neither.

Similar to Letho, I didn't respond because I have nothing to say. I come here to read and write fantasy fiction to get away from the real world, and suddenly someone who hasn't ever even written a piece of writing and submitted it comes in after not being here for who knows how long asking favors.

I come here to escape reality and create my own, not try to fix the reality of others. I have my own problems that I'm going through. I feel there are better mediums to ask for advice or help in what you are going through than Althanas, and it also doesn't help when new people come along looking to see what Althanas has to offer in terms of RP and writing and see something like that.

I'm studying psychology to be a clinician and I'm not sure what I'd do for you either. I'd suggest talking it out with your family and friends and to reach your own conclusions. If you have a problem that is really causing you anxiety and stress in your life and you can't really seem to deal with it, maybe talking to a counseling psychologist would help. But, I'm not sure. They're more in the realm of touchy-feely, mother-to-the-world and there-is-no-problem-I-can't-solve kind of psychologists. But, they help and sometimes talking it out to somebody who is willing to bend there ear is enough. Though, I sincerely doubt you want to bring that here and expect the same results.
