    The Althanas Trading Company

    The Althanas Trading Company

Welcome to the Trading Company store. The purpose of this outlet is to utilise the skills of our personnel, as well as our trade connections and resources, to provide goods and services at a lower price than you will find in the Bazaar. Unlike the Bazaar, we do have limitations based on what we can craft - but if we can make it, then we can make it cheaper.

The availability of goods is determined by three factors: the suitability of facilities, the availability of resources, and the expertise of our craftsmen. Each of these are described below, so please read on and see if we can meet your request.

Last of all: if you wish to place an order, you can make a transaction thread in the Bazaar and mark it with 'The Trading Company' in the title, or simply post the item(s) below and let us handle the acquisition.

    Facilities

    • Forges and workshops: metal and woodworking is integral to all aspects of civilisation, from agriculture to industry to military and beyond. Our multipurpose facilities include trained staff, and can accommodate individual orders or requests to outfit groups at a time.

    • Transportation: the Trading Company owns breeding and housing facilities for a planned expansion into the mount and work animal market. As of yet, we do not possess any transport vessels either, but rely on space made available in privately owned merchant ships and the like when necessary.

    • Testing facilities: these locales provide a place and space in which to try out and practice with new inventions, be it ballistics testing, armour proofing, putting a machine through its paces, stress tests, or something more obscure. This can allow us to refine and perfect our creations, so you can be assured of a working product.

    Resources

The Trading Company actively participates in resource acquisition, detailed below, which cuts our outsourcing costs. To elaborate: ongoing missions have not yet provided a resource bonus to the Trading Company, but should do upon completion, and are listed here so that you may keep an eye on any upcoming opportunities. Established suppliers might also provide a cheap way to acquire resources, or they may simply make a resource type available for us to exploit. Below that, you will find a list of resource types and quantities that have been acquired through such threads, As such, any requests for those materials (either raw or crafted into a product) will be even cheaper than our usual rates.

    Personnel

Here we list Trading Company members, their crafts, and their degree of expertise. Keep in mind that rare, high-tier materials often require mastery of a craft to shape, so intermediate-level craftsmen may not be able to cater to your request for such things as prevalida or dragon scale goods.

Dr Steam: engineer, mechanic (specialises in steam power).

Elthas Belthasar: alchemist (basic), artist (master), blacksmith/armourer (basic), cook (basic), lumberjack, miner.

Erica Hart: blacksmith/armourer (intermediate). All crafted items are twice as durable as their normal counterparts.

Fox Owen Xavier: alchemist (intermediate), runesmith (basic), ritualist (basic).

Invetisto de Masinoj: blacksmith, carpenter, cartwright, cooper, mason, mechanic, tailor/draper, tanner, weaver.

Otto Bastum: blacksmith and armourer, enchanter (can imbue crafted iron/steel items, see profile abilities for details).

Steppenwolf Orlouge: Engineer, mechanic, advanced armourer, hair enthusiast, mad mystic, and owner of the deadliest pockets in the world.

    Transaction Logs

    • A Weapon to Remember Me By (transaction initiated 0829 GMT + 8, 8/3/14. Concluded 1025 GMT + 8, 14/3/14): the standard Bazaar rate equaled 439 gold all up, discounted down to 404 gold. A 10% price deduction was offered to BlueGhostofSeaside for the Eiskalt conflict, which put the end price to her at 395 gold, resulting in a loss of 9 gold for the Trading Company.
