    Bazaar Submission Thread

Have an idea for a material for the Regional Bazaars? Suggest it here!

    Include the following:

Material Name: What is it called?
Description: Include such things as strength, weight, color, special properties, etc.
    Location: Where is it available?
    Miscellaneous: Anything else?

Remember: Materials that try to "fit in" with Althanas will be considered better than others. So if you make your metal available in Kachuck or your wood in Raiaera, you might get more than if you suggested that your specialty wood was available in the middle of the Fallien wasteland.

Also, try not to submit "ultra materials." You can do it, but don't expect your death-ray plastic insulation to get added to the list anytime soon.

EDIT: Do not refer to tiers in your description. I CAN and WILL edit out references to tier.

I guess I'll kick us off here Madison.

    Material Name: Meteoritus (Basically Meteorite)

Description: A high quality substance, this ore is quite rare on the open market. A gemstone of crystalline properties, it is not practical for usage in armor or weapons. Research has discovered that its main property serves as an excellent conduit of energy.

This conduit allows for the passage of non-elemental energy such as Plasma and other light-based energy. It is ideal for useage with high energy read out equipment. The ore has no special elemental defense properties and it does not make good armor at all. All the Ore is used for is as a conduit for raw energy. The Ore tends to be dark red or pink in color. A single piece of Meteoritus weighs in roughly 5lbs.

Location: Deep in the mountains of Corone, the Dwarves living in those mountains have access to this ore from meteor-crash sites.

Miscellaneous: It gives off a high ammounts of energy thats harmful to all but Corone Dwarves. The Dwarves developed a process to handle the ore skillfully so it can be distributed on the open market. Raw Meteoritus can be lethal to the touch. It is often found in meteorite crash sites.

Cryn, or also know as unmelting ice.

Description: Cryn is crystal that is always cold and very transparent; the material is slightly stronger than steel but a little less flexible. Still it makes effective weapons and plated armors. As a weapon it has an extra bite of cold sting making wounds feel more painful than they are and armor keeps cool in even hot climates. The armor offers minor protection against fire magic but makes cold actually may add to the damage of ice magic but does not become brittle from cold.

Location: Salvar is the most obvious and it does exist there, but it is more common in Corone Mountains, some cold climate wizards have built whole towers out of the material in hot climates like Haidia and Fallien but are extremely remote due to the fact that they are not welcomed in those places with open arms.

Misc: Cryn can be forged to give a frosted look that isn’t transparent. Also it may never take a fire enchantment. Cryn was normally rare but a few of the towers being abandoned had placed it on the mass market.

Kiallancith – A heavy yet soft shiny silver metal with a green hue like temper. Strong and durable once forged. Holds the property of nullifying vibration. Difficult to forge to an edge as the compression of forgery often brings the heated variant of the metal to become brittle during the process of thinning the metal enough to become a blade. A metal for fine armours and accessories, or used for weapons requiring the use of a heavy edge including maces and batons. Large quantities are rare so the metal is often expensive in large amounts.
The pores within such metal which give the material its’ strength are the reason the forged result of this metal take vibrations without difficulty, these pores also make it a great recipient to enchantments but its’ weight makes it difficult to wield in large encumbrances such as plate mail. Named after its’ discoverer.

Falarencium – A metal once discarded, thought to have been nothing but rusted steel. New discoveries have found that the metal flakes when in contact with warm thick liquids, primarily blood. The high vitamin and iron content of blood causes the blade to rust in an controlled manner, making the edge very sharp very quick. Due to the rusting of the blade, the metal is very prone to thinning, and eventually becomes brittle.
This metal does not imbue with magic very well, although can make blades sharper than none seen before, the downfall of this metal is that it cannot take heavy strikes, so blocking, unless back lined with a stronger metal that does not carry vibration, is not possible.
Blade sharpens at contact with blood as it thins and grows weaker in it’s already low defensive capability. The material looks constantly earthy brown and dull crimson red, like rusted iron, making for a visually ugly although highly functional metal for forging katana blades, kitchen knives, and other items that must be cared for in great detail.
Found in a large abundance, although pricy due to the amount that is discarded to rat out the material that has not already rusted to a fault. The rest sold as scrap for accessories.

May as well put some of Sirrus' special items up for sale.

Glampowder - This coarse and sparkling off-white powder is a base alchemic ingredient of many applications, most of which are not complex and thus available to the masses. One dose is considered to be a couple grams, a teaspoon or so.
The most common application of the stuff is in cooking while on the move: when added to a liquid of neutral PH it raises the temperature of that liquid by about 30 degrees celcius per dose. The powder evaporates after ten minutes or so, leaving the dish uncontaminated. The steam is moderately toxic however, causing hallucinations and drowsiness for a few hours. If ingested, glampowder will render a human comatose until neutralized by their immune system, about 6 hours per dose. One must also be very careful with the PH of the solvent: low PH will ignite and high PH will congeal and remain toxic.
Glampowder may also be used as a sleeping dust, though its effects are mild with an airborne delivery. The target will hallucinate for about five minutes, then pass out for about ten minutes per dose. Upon waking they will hallucinate again before recovering.
Being magical itself, Glampower is drawn to magic. It can be spread about an area to reveal any enchantments, though it only outlines their form and position, not the nature of the enchantment. It has proven very effective at revealing invisibility and secret runes.
There are many other interactions Glampowder is capable of, but they require further alchemic processing or use along with another alchemic item.
Glampowder is available in any large city or area near an established alchemist, and is especially prolific on the eastern continent.

Blackpowder Beads - These compact pellets of various sizes look very much like beads of coal, though they don't leave trace on your hands. When subjected to strong impact they explode in a noisy burst of flame and shrapnel. The larger the bead, the larger the explosion and the more force required to trigger it.
They rarely get larger than five centimetres in diameter, since they need more force than can be generated manually to set off. There is no limit to their size however, there have been exceptionally large beads used as mechanically triggered traps or even catapult ammunition.
If used with glampowder, the dust melts in the explosion and coats nearby objects with a slow and hot burning gel that smoulders on for at least ten minutes per dose of powder. Water will briefly put out the flames, but not the heat.
They are mainly available in the Kachuk Mines and Twilight Mountains area.

Thunderstones - These jagged stones of various pastel colours bear many similarities to quartz in appearance. Only in appearance however; their rough looking surface is actually quite smooth and elastic, the broken look coming from the electric charge inside the stone.
Thunderstones are quite fragile, able to be broken in a squeezed fist. When released this way the charge is minor, a discomfort at worst. The true application of this item is as a battery. When the membrane is pierced in a small area, the charge is released much more slowly, able to power small devices for a short period of time or release a single strong startup charge.
The coating of a thunderstone is comprised of glampowder and saltwater. The amount of powder, salt, and the strength of the stone inside effect the colour of the finished product.
Thunderstones are available throughout Alerar and Dheathain.

    Material Name: Rythadine

Description: An alloy of mythril and dehlar, rythadine is the future for enchanted weaponry. The item is crafted first from mythril, enchanted, and then a process known only to the creator is used to blend molten dehlar with the enchanted object. This solidifies the enchantment, making it unchangeable and giving it defense against any other magic. Rythadine retains the strength of mythril with the added defensive properties of dehlar, and can be made any color depending on materials added in the alchemical process. Rythadine was born here, created by the alchemist Edward "Tinker" Rythadine.

Location: At present, only in Salvar, for that is where the alchemist lives.

Miscellaneous: Kudos to Mathias for coming up with the awesome sounding name.

    Material Name: Liviol Balm

Description: the juice from the leaf of the Liviol Tree, this very sticky liquid has potent healing properties, using a few drops to heal tiny wounds and at least 4 oz to heal serious wounds. It ranges the spectrum from pale blue to pale purple, depending on the color of the tree.

Location: It is available wherever liviol trees grow.

Miscellaneous: While it does wonders for healing, liviol balm is extremely painful to use, concentrating days, weeks, or months of healing pain into a few minutes or seconds.

    Material Name: Cordiana Wood
Description: This sturdy wood magnifies music magic based on the user's abilities. Although it is used mainly in crafting instruments as harvesting large quantities is prohibited by the laws of the foresters, some shields do exist. However, most of these are elven relics and as such, are not easily found.
    Location: The Concordia Forest

Note: I just think we should have a wood that can be used to bolster magic abilities.

    Material name: Dragon's Hoard
Description: A dragon bone-aluminum alloy, given its name by its strange golden sheen. Flexible and yet highly dense.
Location: Rare; usually sold by dwarves lucky enough to have dragon bone in their possession. As this material is highly illegal due to its toxic nature, it is usually not a good idea to ask the owner where he/she got it.
Miscellanious: Discovered (okay, thought of) this within a few minutes of reading this thread.

    Material Name: Fool's Adamantine

Description: Essentially fake adamantine. An artificial metal created by baking copper ore with chemicals derived from a special bacteria that is commonly found growing underground on the roots of dying trees, this metal looks exactly like adamantine though it still has all the properties of copper. Con men and underhanded merchants love selling this at exorbitant prices to unwitting buyers. However there is an easy way to detect the metal. When fool's adamantine is submerged in boiling water it gives the steam a brownish tint.

Location: Everywhere, especially abundant near areas close to large forests.
