I'm pleased to announce that spoils have returned with a vengeance. For those of you who are unfamiliar with spoils, they are tangible items like weapons, armor and other bazaar purchasables that are rewarded in addition to or in lieu of EXP and GP for a completed thread. We've recently updated the system to provide you with a maximum bounty for your high quality RP. The new spoil system has been completely integrated with the bazaar and the ROG, so the process will be seamless.
Spoils must be requested on the Judgment Submission Form. Instead of a catch all box, there is now a specific area to request spoils as seen here:
As the blurb indicates, spoils will be approved in the order they are requested. So if you request five spoils, we'll consider the first item first, the second item second and so on. Keep in mind though, simply because you request a spoil doesn't mean that it'll be approved. The quality of the writing must match the bounty. You can also bank spoils. This is particularly useful if you want to complete a series of quests to obtain exclusive adamantium or other high tier gear. Just indicate that you intend to bank your reward and the maximum amount of GP will be awarded. When you're ready to request the goods, let us know and we'll consider the quality of series as a whole when determining the spoil. Just be careful that you don't spend the extra GP on something else though, as deep pockets are one of the considerations we make when determining whether or not to approve the requested spoil as well.
You don't have to request a spoil if you'd rather just receive maximum EXP and GP.
Just because we've updated the spoil system does not mean the bazaar is obsolete, folks. It's still the quickest way to purchase or sell items, particularly of the enchanted variety. Moreover, when considering time and effort, requesting items as spoils is only really worth it if you're going for some high grade stuff. Keep that in mind if you need a quick weapon for a tournament, clan war, or just don't want to be underequipped for an impromptu battle.

Be sure to take note of the estimated wait times. We're really pushing the Workshop right now as an alternative to judge commentary. In fact, if you request a Workshop, you should expect to hear some feedback from judges as well as the community at large. As always, we've dug out a niche for our RP folks. If you're just here to have fun, you can simply request a no-judgment and earn your rewards immediately.
