Ixian Castle Guards:

The newly trained garrison at Ixian Castle has been outfitted with new armour. This suit is a uniform as much as defence. It has a half breast plate, covering the ribcage and shoulders/neck. This is made of folded steel. The lower chest and arms are covered in treated leather, with steal bracers and gauntlets. This offers protection to the most important parts whilst avoiding overly restricting a soldier's movement. Above the knee down are protected by steel greaves and thick, wool lined boots. A guard uniform is lined with a blue tunic, whilst officers are identified by dark green colours and a half-cloak.

Each soldier has a steel shortsword, wooden circular shield, and a spear. Guards stationed on the castle walls have a bow and ten arrows in a leather quiver. The frequency of archers to guards is one archer per ten men. Sergeants carry a longsword and shield. Spears are used only in defensive scenarios or in open air combat. The castle has a small contingent of cavalry, but they are lightly armed, and armoured. These serve as outriders and guards for citizenry travelling to and from the castle, as well as royal guard for the Orlouge family as required.
