    Althanas Judgment Type Guide

Congratulations on completing your thread! Now is the time to select the judgment type that best fits your story.
For each judgment type, you will find a short description, an estimated timeframe, a scoring guide, and a cost (in AP). The timeframe reflects the average time that it takes a judge to process your request. This does not include the actual adding of your rewards. The scoring guide outlines how many possible points you can earn using this judgment type. The cost refers to how many AP you will need to exchange to "purchase" each judgment. For more information on the AP system, click here.

TYPE DESCRIPTION ESTIMATED TIMEFRAME SCORING GUIDE COST
No Judgment As the name suggests, the no judgment options allows writers to receive rewards for their stories without receiving any unique scores or commentary. The turn-around time for these judgments is the shortest, but the writer will not receive the advice that a judge could have provided. This option is an excellent choice if you were just looking to write a story, and you are not interested in having this specific thread judged. No judgments may not be used for competitive battles. 24 hours. Rewards are based on a score of 55. 0 AP
Workshop Submission Rather than having a single judge provide feedback on a story, a workshop submission allows multiple writers to weigh-in. If you select the workshop option, your thread will be posted in the Writers Workshop forum, where it will remain for 30 days. The entire community will have the ability to give you their thoughts. Consider this option if you are interested in receiving commentary from more than one person. Workshop judgments may not be used for competitive battles. 24 hours. Rewards are based on a score of 65. 2 AP
Basic Judgment Basic judgments are conducted by a single judge. That judge will outline three of the writer's strengths, and three areas that could use some improvement. This option is fantastic for writers who are just starting out, or anyone looking for only a few general things to improve on. Basic judgments are also the most responsive to growth; improvement from one basic judgment to the next will result in additional rewards. Basic judgments may not be used for competitive battles. 7-10 days. Rewards are based on a score of 40 (below average), 50 (average), or 60 (above average), to be determined by the judge. 3 AP
Condensed Judgment Judgments using the condensed rubric are completed by one judge. The rubric consists of four parts: plot, character, prose, and wildcard. This is the second most comprehensive judgment, and it provides the writer with thorough feedback, including overall thoughts and suggestions for improvement. Condensed rubrics are a fantastic way for all writers to hone their skills. Condensed rubrics may be used for competitive battles, such as those taking place in the Citadel. 7-14 days. Rewards are based on a score out of 100 (30 for plot, 30 for character, 30 for prose, and 10 for wildcard), to be determined by the judge. 4 AP
Full Judgment Althanas' full rubric is the most in-depth option available, as they break down the condensed rubric even further. Now, feedback and scores are provided on even more specific elements, including story, setting, pacing, communication, action, persona, mechanics, clarity, and technique. While this judgment type provides the most comprehensive commentary, it also holds writers to the highest standard; scores below 55 are not only possible, but common. Full rubric judgments are best reserved for expert writers. Full rubrics may also be used for competitive battles, such as those taking place in the Citadel. Up to 30 days. Rewards are based on a score out of 100 (1-10 for each individual category, including wildcard), to be determined by the judge. 5 AP

To try or not to try. To take a risk or play it safe.
Your arguments have reminded me how precious the right to choose is.
And because I've never been one to play it safe, I choose to try.
