A Good Reminder

This made me think of you lot. We're all unique - different styles, different strengths, different preferences. But if we let fear of being different keep us from writing the stories we need to tell, we'll never accomplish anything. We'll rob the world of something new, and we won't be able to experience the immense pride that comes with creating something. On a site that places so much emphasis on skill, and in a community filled with so many incredible writers, it is easy to lose sight of that. But keep writing, because your story won't write itself.

Absolutely. And it can be scary to submit your stuff for judgement, but the judges are there just to provide a service for you; you don't owe them anything (except patience and civility!). Write what you want to write, not what you think you're expected to write, because the aim here is to enjoy yourself.
