We are thrilled that you have chosen to spend you weekend in Althanas!
In this thread, you'll find everything that you'll need to know during the Althanas Festival.

Purpose
Put simply, the festival is a celebration of Althanas past, present, and future. We take time out of our busy schedules to find our way back to our characters, and the world we've created. We spend time with friends, and in some cases, make new ones. And, perhaps most importantly, we write. We continue old stories, plan new adventures, and maybe even marathon a thread or two. We get back to what we came here for in the first place, and we make time for it again, because sometimes it takes an event like this to make that happen.

Goals
Beyond having a good time, we do have two site-wide goals that we hope to reach by the end of the long weekend. The first is 1250 posts. This goal is simply incentive to post post post! Last year, we had pages and pages of threads that consisted of short roleplay posts. Why? Because it encouraged writers to throw old restraints out the window, and just write for the sake of writing. Stories were told in a single day that may have never been written without the post count goal. Bosses were slain, vignettes were penned, and the OOC section blew up with new games. The site experienced new life, and momentum carried that desire to post for quite some time afterward. The second goal is 500 dollars in donations. This goal is more administrative, meant to raise money for increased advertising. We would love to see more members among our ranks, and added funds would make that easier.

Incentives
Below, you'll find the modifiers that will be applied this weekend. Note that we've increased the numbers, and you'll now receive 2.5x EXP for all threads started and finished during the 72-hour period!
  • A 1.5x EXP boost to all threads completed during the long weekend.
  • A 2.5x EXP boost to all threads started and completed during the long weekend.
  • A 3x modifier on all AP earned from Saturday to Monday.
