Appearance: Ryu has a rather lean frame for a child although none of his muscles are defined. He has black hair and deep bright amber eyes. He mainly wears a white tunic and large baggy brown pants. He normally has his hair down and swept to one side and has a small plat coming down the backside of his head that rests over his shoulder.

History
Born as a dragon whelp Ryu belongs to an ancient race known as the Brood. The Brood were long mistaken as just regular dragons, however as it turns out they are much more. The brood are beings created by a spiritual entity unknown to them with the body of man but the genes of dragons. It is rumoured that these beings may ascend from human form into dragons, but this has not been seen to happen for a very long time and is considered a myth.

Whether or not brood can or can’t transform into dragons isn’t their defining factor however, as brood typically hold great magical power and physical prowess. The most well known brood through history have been great warriors in the art of war and even magus. There are only records of four confirmed Broods to this date.

Ryu’s earliest memory is waking up in a forest completely naked and being taken under the care of an old mage named Mygus. Mygus raised him as his own son and put his natural magical talent to use after discovering his affinity for it.

However this apprenticeship was cut short. As one day when returning from town to fetch some groceries Ryu found Mygus dead on the floor, a large ballock dagger stuck into his back. The murder seemed to have been after Mygus’ staff but left his spellbook behind. Ryu was distraught and ran away in fear for his own life but was soon stopped by the village leader, trying to calm him down and offer him guidance. Ryu then was left in his care, learning the art of sword fighting and helping villagers with any of their concerns.

Personality
Ryu is a young boy that spends most of his time trying to help people in any way that he can. He is rather sensitive and cry’s a lot even though he is quite strong for a boy. He rarely talks as speaking has always been a difficult skill for him to learn. He is generally very shy and reserved but very kind in heart.

Abilities

Swift!: Ryu is a quick fighter and is able to swing his blade twice as fast as regular people meaning he can get more attacks in! He is also quite nimble on his toes though his reflexes need work!

LOCKED TRAIT; Mana Pool level 1: Ryu is locked to using spells three times a day.

Spell-Heal: Heals light wounds on one target. Deals light damage if used on undead. Can use once every post.

Spell-Magic Ball: Fires a solid ball of Magic the size of a soccer ball, projectile type attack that slowly disperses into whatever it hit, if what it hit is biological then the magic will burn and bruise them. Can use once every post, has a range of 100 meters, deals physical damage in the form of magic. Projectile speed is moderate.

Howdy and welcome. I like your character idea, seems quite fleshed out and ready for action.

We split abilities and skills up based on what they do. Your double strike would fall into the ability category. We often use a more genric 'speed' ability, if you wanted you could change it to something like:
Ryu is very fast, able to throw two punch in the time it would take a normal person to throw one.

This would also mean he could jump sideways to dodge things quicker and similar reactions.

With the uses for your other two abilities. We limit things more than once per post, normally 3 uses per day for starting characters. This might seem like a huge drop, but often battle threads don't last longer than 6 posts. As you level and add more abilities this is especially true. Can you change your abilities to be three uses a day?

Oh, I didn't click that the locked trait referenced the below abilities! My mistake, I'm too used to seeing people lock abilities in their profiles they want to use later. It seems to be all fine now.

Hi, someone pointed out the similarities between this character and Ryu from Breath of Fire. Upon looking it up, the two are nearly identical.

We don't allow people to play characters from other stories or games. Characters should be the writer's own creation. You can certainly get inspiration from other sources, but not directly copy.

You can edit this profile so it is different or I can close this thread and you can post a new character once you've had time to flesh it out.
