It was a beautiful morning, the tide was out and the sun played on the few whisps of clouds and the beach causing shale like hues to shimmer over the still damp sand. The Peregrine was in port being fitted out with new spars and sails. This had to be done from time to time as general maintenance to any thing was needed.

Cain knew his crew well and knew that they could get the job done with out him and so he decided to wander down the beach. He had something of a picnic with him in a bag slung over his back. He was not so naive as to walk unequipped and kept his saber, and pistols on him with his sea coat. Of course he never went any where without his trusty tricorn hat.

He could still hear the dock or at-least the louder calls, pipes and other noises. He continued down the beach humming, and singing to himself. "Safe and sound at home again, let the waters roll jack. Long we've tossed on the rolling main now we're safe ashore Jack. Don't forget your old shipmates folly rolly rolly rolly rey-doh!"

His voice was a window rattling baritone that could be heard from over the roar of a full broadside of eighteen pounders. He was not a quiet man. In fact he was quite sanguine had jovial. The sea seemed to make Cain the kind of maybe not happy but joyful captain that ensured a happy ship. This morning was no different especially with a rising barometer making him even more energetic than he normally felt. It was a fine morning to walk on the country side.
