Imagine it as a trade route. The EASIEST way to get to one place or another is to take the main roads, which in your case is through the middle forest. However, it is NOT a grand connector (all regions are entirely open). If you want troops to scale the mountains, do it. Of course, do it fairly and realistically (for a fantasy). If Renjiro blocks off the forest, go around it.

And further, Renjiro is right about a turn. A turn is simply all players posting, be it in thier respective regions or the same region. Whether you are all in the same region or not, if both other players haven't posted within two days of your previous post then you are free to continue.
