    Name: Ailnea
    Race: Appears human, but there is suspicion without proof to the contrary
    Age: 18
    Sex: Female
    Hair color: Blond
    Eye color: Blue
    Height: 5'5"
    Weight: 150 pounds, with a very beautiful body boasting very nice muscle tone. There is only about ten percent body fat on the woman, if that.
    Language: Common, Tradespeak, Aibrone (A language known only by the monks, and spoken only by the monks. Used when traveling so that outsiders don't learn things their not supposed to.)
    Occupation: Nun of Aibrone

    Personality: Few talk to her, beyond Brother Onox and The Elder, and to them she's always as polite and as charming as she can be. To everyone else, she seems desperate for a friend, being shunned for so many years for something that wasn't even her fault to begin with.

    Appearance: Ailnea has two different forms at this time.

    One is that of a perfect, ordinary human woman. Her figure is picture perfect, her proportions generous. Her hair is blond, her eyes are blue. Typical image of beauty.

    The other is that of a monster. It has a woman's body, same perfect proportions. But its skin appears to be like gray clouds, yet feels cold and reptillian, though her skin is mottled no scales can be seen. Her hair is the same, but in place of strands of hair, are tentacles like that of an octopus. Her hands appear to be monsterous claws. The entire body is one uniform shade of gray, save for her eyes, which are as Cerulean pools. No other color appears on her body, without exception.

    History: The Citadel, to many it is known only as a place where Death has no hold. A place to go and try ones might against even the mightiest of foes, and lose nothing. To others, it is a place of neutrality, for the monks of Aibrone who dwell within the Citadel hold ill will against none and accept all, even those who follow the paths of darkness. Still to others, it is seen as a place of hope. A place that can hold back Death's unyielding grasp and heal even the greatest of wounds becomes a desperate beacon of hope for those suffering from illnesses no other can cure.

    Yet, The Citadel holds secrets within its walls, dark secrets...

    Not all who go to The Citadel for a challenge come back alive. Not all who seek neutral ground to air wounds of a political and religious nature receive a fair hearing for their words. Not all illnesses can or will be cured.

    Deep within the Inner Cloister, the innermost part of The Citadel where no outsider has ever set foot, within a monk’s cell, a young woman sits in meditation. An initiate within the order, she meditates daily, seeking to obtain what is known to the monks as The First Evolution, for this is in truth what the order seeks, to evolve and become more than what they are, to reach the next higher plane of existence beyond all those normally associated with the world of Althanas.

    When one obtains The First Evolution, one ceases to be completely what one was at birth. One becomes more, as The First Evolution changes the body, the spirit, and the mind, preparing the way for higher evolutions, and greater understanding of the manifold purposes of existence.

    This young woman, this innocent person, unknown to the outside world, is one of the order's dark secrets. Within The Citadel lies an Archive of every battle and event that has ever occurred in it's hallowed walls, yet search them, and no record of this woman will be found, though she was born within it's walls, in one of the many healing rooms outsiders are taken to after their battles. To the other initiates, she is as a stranger, rarely seen, rarely spoken to. To the Novitiates and Masters, she is a nobody, not worth their time or attention. To the Grandmasters and The Elder, she is a painful reminder of when the power of Aibrone first began to crumble.

    A short eighteen years ago, a strange woman came to The Citadel. The monks prided themselves on being able to identify where a person came from by sight alone and yet despite all their efforts and powers this woman was a mystery. When pressed for her origins, she only replied that she came from far away, and that her name was Ailnea. She said she was about to give birth, and begged for assistance with the delivery.

    It was a struggle for the woman, and after ten exhaustive hours of effort, she delivered into the world a healthy baby girl, but died in the process. The monks thought to simply heal and resurrect her yet when they tried a strange energy radiated from her body, and blocked their spells. Horrified they tried again and again, yet each time they failed, and eventually, were forced to give up, and break their promise to keep the cold touch of death away from all who entered their walls.

    Yet what to do with the baby? Clearly they couldn't just kill it. The thought never even crossed their minds. They thought of taking her to an orphanage, whether publicly, or in disguise, but then eventually the child would be traced back to them and the world would discover that they had failed to keep their promise. The world couldn't lose faith in them; they couldn't let themselves become embarrassed so. After much debate and argument, it was decided to keep the baby within The Inner Cloister, and raise her as a monk. They gave her the name of her mother, Ailnea and forbade every member of the order from ever discussing what happened, on pain of death.

    The young woman for whom so many monks hold disregard because of the knowledge of what happened began to glow with a little white light. In ecstasy she moaned with a pleasure that no lover could ever possibly reproduce as raw power flowed through her in The First Evolution. The light faded, and a knock came upon the door.

    "Ailnea, are you alright in there? The Elder would like to see you," came the voice of Brother Onox, the only Grandmaster to ever care for her, besides The Elder.

    The Citadel holds many dark and sinister secrets, and though not all stem from her birth in the Citadel, soon they shall all come to light by her actions, and then shall the great cosmic scales balance all that has transpired; and before they finish not a single member of the order of Aibrone shall remain untouched from the retribution to follow.

    Weapons/Armor: None.

    Skills:

    The First Evolution: The First Evolution has altered Ailnea's body for speed rather than strength. With that in mind...

    Offensive Skills:
    Martial Arts: (Adept) Ailnea does not fight with a weapon other than her hands. Ailnea's style cannot be pinned down to any one particular style, having observing a great number of matches in the arenas over the years. Ailnea has created a style that is a bit of everything, and has been honed by her masters into an effective and deadly fighting style.

    Defensive Skills:

    Evolutionary Speed: Ailnea is 2.5X as fast as a normal person in all things. This in turn makes her reflexes much faster. (Speed and Endurance must always be the same number.)
    Evolutionary Endurance: Ailnea has 2.5X the endurance of a normal person to account for her increased speed so that she does not wear herself out ever five paces at top speed. (Speed and Endurance must always be the same number.)
    Acrobatics: (AboveAverage) Having no armor to protect her, Ailnea has learned to move and twist about in an acrobatic fashion to dodge and avoid being hit in battle.

    Other Skills:
    Healing: Aibrone monks are famous for their healing ability. Ailnea however is not so skilled as the masters or Grandmasters, or even the highly ranked Novitiates. It takes her eight minutes to close a moderate wound, and four to close a minor wound. Anything more severe than Moderate cannot be helped by her, yet.

    Pearls of Wisdom: The monks of Aibrone are known far and wide for their wisdom and ability to direct even the most befuddled of adventurers towards their destiny. Being only a lowly novitiate, Ailnea has gathered a modest degree of wisdom and thus is capable of giving out small degrees of advice.
    Racial abilities:

    The Eldritch Tongue: Ailnea can speak, read, and write the Eldritch Tongue. Gained here

    Eldritch form: Ailnea has three forms. Her mundane human form, and now she can access one more. Her Lesser Eldritch form. This form grants her no special powers or abilities, yet.

    Equipment:
    Aibrone's Medallion: This gold Medallion bears the seal of the Citadel upon it, and is given to all initiates. It could be stolen, but who would dare steal from a monk or Nun of Aibrone? Further, what Monk or Nun would dare disgrace themselves by letting it be stolen, or by selling it?

    Simple Nun's habit and Robe: Plain brown Cotton material, extraordinary only in its plainness. Comes with Rope belt.

    Stylish fashion wise clothing. Gained here

    Please drop the speed/endurance to 2.5x.

    That's about it. There are quite a few updates, but not that many to skills usable in combat.
    "Turning and turning in the widening gyre
    The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity."
