    A novice spellsinger

    Name: Suffheruin Durlaeruin
[Our lady sorcerous of the song of stars)

Description: All the angular, exotic, and delicate beauty that so defines the Raiaeran elves is brought to an extreme in this daughter of the High Elves. Petite and thin to the point of appearing fragile, Suffheruin exudes the same aloof, ethereal grace as expected of a child of the elves, but translates it to an almost abstract, unattached sense of floating through the world. She is short for a Raiaeran with small facial features and thinned, elongated limbs that appear beautifully willowy to some and far too sickly to others. Pale, sleak as cream skin, matched with silver hair so pail to seem almost white – usually kept long and unadorned down to the middle of her back, loose and free – combines to create a form that seem’s to fade away too, so easy to dismiss as nothing but a shadow or even miss entirely for all its small, flat shape and ghost-like appearance. Her only truly striking feature are the bright, alert violet eyes, with flecks of silver, serving as the only points of color on her face, always and perpetually thinking. That trait alone makes her ancestry evidently apparent to any alert, knowledgeable eye.

By nature and force of personality, Suffheruin is demure, preferring obscurity and disappearing into the sidelines more than drawing attention to herself. As a result, she typically opts for simple clothing lacking elaborate decoration or embroidery and almost always in shades of silvers and blues. She wears no jewelry mostly, save when the occasion absolutely demands it. Those familiar with her habits recognize that a comb holding up the loose strands of her hair or a quick, twisted knot tied together at her crown typically indicates a particular dedication to her work.

    Height
    62 inches (1.57 m)

    Weight
    90 lbs. (41 kg)
    Age: 75 years.

Personality: The Critic/Observer, or Introverted intuitive Thinking Perceiving

History: It is widely known that Suffheruin is the daughter of the late embassador Dorthonion Durlaeruin, and the eldest of his three children. It is widely known that he was harder on her than either her sister and brother, more demanding, more critical, more readily to find offense. Anyone that follows gossip can tell you that she had to jump through flaming hoops to get her father to approve a leave of absence from being his secretary to go to obtain bardic training at the capital, and more than likely they can inform you of the degree to which she through herself into her studies and how she tried so hard to please her instructors. Lastly, for those that are truly interested in Suffheruin’s development, it is known that she helped to shepard many of the refugees out of Raiaera to Salvar and Corone when during the Corpse War. A couple, perhaps one or two more, will openly confess to the trials she faced helping those elves survive in foreign lands.

Politics, religion, magic, they are the three great loves of her life, and they are a dangerous mix.

    Skills:

Acting. Practiced, Suffheruin has developed a wide range of acting ability, but she is not yet capable of taking on just any role yet. In otherwords, she is good at assuming the roles she knows, but not so good at assuming one outside of this range.

Alertness. Practiced, a life of, and connected to politics, among other things has made Suffheruin a perpetual eavesdropper.

Athletics. Practiced, despite Suffheruin’s willowy appearance, she is a strong runner, jumper, and swimmer, just don’t expect her to win a fist fight.

Archery. Novice, she can hit the target, but not much else.

Artistic Expression (oil painting). Compatent, Suffheruin can produce works of art with enough skills that people would purchase them, and that would actually gain a showing in a minor gallery.

Carousing. Practiced, Suffheruin has been to a few parties and people find her an enjoyable guest.

Cooking. Practiced, iSuffheruin knows how to prepare a few dishes, and can even prepare them well, but she doesn’t do well trying to cook in the field.

Dancing. As something she enjoys, and something she is quite skilled at, there are few things she is better at presently than this.

Diplomacy. Compatent,Suffheruin is well experienced in dealing with all sorts ofbeings, from humans to elves to dwarves, and even when handling touchy subjects, sh is able to get results without ruffling too many feathers.

Disguise. Compatent, Suffheruin is able to alter her own appearance and those of others with the proper application of make-up, clothing, and props.

Etiquette, practiced, she knows all the elements of proper comportment in Raiaeran, Corian, and even Salvarian society, and if given the opportunity, could be considered quite charming in those circles.

Empathy. Practiced, Suffheruin understands the emotions of others, and can sympathize with, feign sympathy for, or play on such emotions as she see fit. She is an easy hand at discerning motive, and might be able to pick up on when someone's lying to her, depending on the skill of the deceiver.

Haggling. Practiced, Suffheruin is both knowledgeable & experienced in the domain of bargaining. While she is no slick horse trader, she can more often as not get a good deal for her money. She can stretch her silver, as some would say.

Intimidation. For such a small woman, Suffheruin can become quite terrifying when the situation demands it, especially given her natural icey veneer. In this area she’s practiced, but those that are particularly perceptive might realize that she doesn’t have the physical strength to back up some threats, at least if she is alone.

Instruction. Suffheruin has a knack for importing information in quantaties that are easy for others to understand. She can explain things and demonstrate techniques in such a way that anyone who listens to her can easily learn, at least most of the time.

Leadership, Practiced, Suffheruin is sometimes capable of channeling her inate charisma into and inspiring force that can cause others to do what she, or the situation demands of them.

Melee. Suffheruin can defend herself, with a sword or dagger in hand, barely. She has had some instruction, but in a real fight, she’s more likely to be in trouble faster than she’ll know what to do with.

Politics. Practiced, Suffheruin holds all the requisite skills for being a competent bureaucrat.

Riding. Suffheruin is a very compatent horse woman, and quite at home in the saddle.
Singing. As someone with both natural talent and plenty of education in this domain, Suffheruin is an above average singer & quite compatent.

Stelth. Given her childhood, and her natural prepencity to faid into the background when she doesn’t see it as necessary to do otherwise, Suffheruin is very good at not being noticed. Indeed, whether blending in, deflecting attention, or tailing a target, Suffheruin can make herself difficult to be noticed when she wants.

    Abilities:

    Melodies of the wind:
For those that study at the school of Aglarlin, learn the value of the transmition of information as a tool of leadership. One of the spell songs taught them is the ability to manipulate wind to communicate to others over great distances. Five times per quest or battle, without aid, Suffheruin can communicate to a group up to five miles away from her current location so long as she knows the relative location of those individuals. The more vague her knowledge the longer (more scenes), she must spend preparing the spell before releasing the magic.

    Songs of Restoration:
Those that study at Lissilin learn the significance of reestablishing the balance of living things, whether they are plant or animal. Five times a thread, given proper time to cast the spell song, Suffheruin can attempt to cleanse an animal or plant of disease, or attempt minor healing upon a plant or organism that has taken injury (At present one scene’s worth of work will only heal the most minor of injuries, or the most basic of ailments. If she spends three concurrent scenes singing, she could cure a more serious ailment, or heal a more serious wound, as in one that is more than just lightly superficial).

    Refrain of Holy Labor:
When most hear the word “enchantment” they think of magical weapons and armor, of wondrous items with supernatural qualities, but they often forget that beings can be enchanted too. Living enchantments are temporary enhancements cast upon a living being that improves the senses, increasing natural abilities, and protecting beings from harm; all these are possibilities with living enchantments. Suffheruin has just begun to learn how to channel this kind of magic through spell song, providing benefits to herself and her allies. Three times per quest or battle, Sufferuin, if given proper time to sing the spell song, can improve the reaction time of either herself or an ally. This increase is significant enough that the average individual can dodge an arrow or a knife at fifty feet, can draw a weapon twice while they would normally have it still in the sheath, and generally initiate a dodge, parry, or block, in time to defeat an enemies attack. This song’s affect only lasts for a single post.

    Items:
A pair of iron throwing knives, with wrist shethes; several changes of clothes; and a spare pair of brown leather boots.

Hello and welcome to the site! Could you clarify the Refrain of Holy labor for me? Give me an example of what is does exactly?
There is a darkness in you. In all of us, probably. Beasts we keep chained. Ordinary men have to keep the chains strong, for if we let the beast loose then society will turn upon us with fiery vengeance. Kings though...well, who is there to turn upon them? So the chains are made of straw. It is the curse of kings, Helikaon, that they can become monsters. And they invariably do.

Alright, so the refrain is a buff. At level one you can only buff one attribute, for one post. The buff incriment would be a 1.5 boost of their current stat. I.E, if someone had 2x speed you could boost them to 3x. I also need you to pick a certain stat to boost.

Let me know if this update to Refrain of Holy Labor is sufficient, or if additional changes are needed. I would also like to know if it is possible for Suffheruin is able to start with weapons? its not entirely clear in the guide if that's allowed or not, thanks.

You can start with up to three pieces of Tier 1 gear, for metal thatd be iron, for wood it'd be any real world wood, and for leather and cloth it would be base leather/wool or cotton.

Edit it into the actual profile and we should be good.
