It was a stormy night, anthour bandit raid... didnt know if i should of done something... mabey... no i couldent of done that. I tried to sleep but the noise, the smell of light smoke in the air, the light of fire comeing in though the window.

When the door blew open to my room i jumped at first, but it was just the wind, the wind howled though the house, drowning out the noise of the bandits, the scream of the people across the street.

"Thats it" i thought to my self, i decided to take a look out the window, incase, just incase... incase the bandits came for us, incase they wanted to take our things, our food, belongings..

The night ended, as i walked out doors, people where cleaning the streets of rubbish, others rebuilding there charred homes, some bringing out the dead... there, in a pile, i saw him, Kenda, my best friend. I ran to him, clearing the rubble from his burnt face, i grabbed him under the shoulders and tried my hardest to pull him out, lifting off the ground, flapping my wings. Then it happened, a arrow from the town center, the bandits were back, looking for more belongings to take.

I started to lift Kenda out of the dirt, suddenly there was a sudden jolt, he got free from the rubbel of his house but i wasent ready for it. I was going backwards, quickly, and i wasent ready, "NOT GOOD!" i shouted. I went flying though the window of my room, glass slid across the floor.

I put Kenda on my bed, and looked round the room, panicing, just incase the bandits came in. I knelt down and lifted up a floor board, reached into the hole and pulled out multipul weapons, a bow with arrows and a short sword. I prepared my self, fixing the sword to my belt on one side and putting the quiver on the other. I held the bow, like it was a part of my body.

As i looked out, i saw a bandit running down the street, i loaded the bow and fired. The bandit fell, the others looked round, confused, the villages too. I looked up, and started to expand my wings, then i flapped for a powerful burts of air. I flew upwards, quickly. I hit the roof, and went though its thin body. I hovered a few feet above the roof and looked around, loaded my bow and fired anthour round off into a bandit.

The bandits got confused, heading for cover, i had to disrupt them while i could with my bow. I fired two more arrows off, hitting one bandit, and just cutting the face of the other. I flew down, nearly hit the ground, put the bow in the quiver and drew the sword and landed on the ground, with a bandit chargeing at me.

I put the sword up in the air to defend my self. The swords clashed, again and again and agian.. he stuttered, fumbeled, i saw an opening into his defense, i grabbed his arm and put the sword aginst his neck.

Suddenly there was a shout from behind, the chief of the village, he orded the fighting to stop.

"What are you doing, we are a peaceful town, the bandits come and go, its the way it is, and always be. You Carter Reeves, have disobayed out laws and will bring the village into ruin. You are banished from the village from here on forth. Now go, i trust the bandit leader will not look upon this, as i plead he will not destroy the village, will he hear my plea?"

The leader looked up as i took my sword off his neck, he laughed. "Of course, obviesly he dosent know of the deal we have, obviesly hot headed. Altho if not abit of a talented fighter."

So that is the begging of my story, as every begging must have an end, i Carter Reeves, am in search of the end, but for the end to be reached, a story must be told...

It was a few days after the bandit raid, I broke the rules of the village, i saw that. The village chief, well it was hard to ague with him. He sometimes would listen, or not depending on his mood. I decided to leave, no hassle. I grabbed my weapons, some food and walked out the village gates.

As i looked back on the village, i saw the sun rising over the hills behind it, its soft golden glow lighting up the cold stone streets. I took one look at what i called home, one last look, this memory would have to last. The peacefulness of the village, the birds flying about the sky.

"Carter! Carter wait!" I heard behind my back, it was Kenda's voice.

I got out the words "Kenda I've be.." before I got interrupted by him.

"The chief said you can stay, you don't have to go"

"How so? Who managed to change his mind?" I asked, I wasn't sure what to say

"I managed, I told him what you did for me.. please stay"

He looked at me, he wasn't used to people leaving the city

"I cant stay Kenda, I gotta go, there isn't anything here for me. I gotta go and find what is beyond the village, see other people. We have gone though our life long enough without having contact to the outside world."

He looked at me as if he broadly understood what I meant, but wasn't sure on what to say next. I turned around, the sun was to my back. I started to walk out onto the grassy fields outside the village. There were birds flying though the air, playing. The trees shaped lightly in the breeze. There was a sense of peace about it.

As I started to walk further down the road, I stopped to take a rest under a tree, to hear a small sound. I looked around seeing nothing, but there was a hole under the tree, as i looked deeper into the hole, I saw a small bird, couldn't of been bigger than a finch. It was young, and no sign of parents. Maybe it fell out of the tree, maybe it was abounded. I put some bread down on the ground, trying to intrigue it to come out of the hole. I waited, and waited, hours passed and i waited. Then it came out and looked at the food, taking a small part off the bread. It then looked up and started to come closer. I put out my hand, it looked at it, then it hopped onto it. I wondered what it was, it didn't look like a breed i knew.

"I will have to look in a book to see what you are little guy" I said to the bird

It looked like it was trying to mimic the words. 'Maybe it will be able to speak' i wondered to my self if it could speak languages, maybe when its older i might try to teach it. I put it into my bag before settling down for the night.

"It may be abit tight for space in there, but it is warm, you will be safe." I told the bird.

It seemed to understand the words, altho not speak them. I settled down for the night, under that tree. The sky was cloudless, the stars shone down from the heavens, and the moon lighted up the world around in a diamond color, the grass which was a once green is now an enchanted diamond blue. Fireflies made the fields look like a lake, reflecting the sky, like they were little stars hovering just above the ground.

I tried to sleep though the night, trying to get what energy i could, as i knew i was going into Port Simel. It was a busy port, and I would need what energy i could gather.

(Thats the second part done. Next will be 'Port Simel, Sea of kings, Port of thief's'.)
