"Many years have passed over this glade, many seasons, many hardships, and many casualties."
A massive bear groans and growls, laying as a stalwart defender of a renewed enveloped meadow, once robbed of life. His body stretches across a mossy boulder that reached up as a pillar of solitude, a throne to rule from. His ears twitched, each once, then both together. A single column of light pierced through the canopy of the thick trees, illuminating the moist glade. Each drop of water reflected the green tinge of the moss beneath it to the rest of the dale. A small pool rest at the base of the glowing tower, reflecting it's web-like radiance to the leaves above. The rocky and mossy glade was sprinkled with both felled trees, though now a home to both plants and small fauna, and the toughened roots reinforced by years of the bears presence. A gentle breeze, though broken by the dense trees, wafted slowly through the everglade causing the strong leaves to rustle.
The colossal bear lay stretched across his throne, roots and flowers wrapping his arms and legs as a cocoon. The bear stirred, eyes fluttering open at the elegant landing of a butterfly. His right paw inched forward, then his left, the flora at his feet retreating at the displacement of his body. The mighty bear stood majestically, roaring to clear his deep chest and throat. He stretched himself out, claws digging at the mossy rock beneath his goliath paws. He rustled his head back and forth, shaking the moisture from his fur. The king watched over his peaceful glade. Though, he was the only of his type there, he watched each branch as his own, each animal as a piece of himself. Proudly he raised his head to meet the sun's warm glow, bathing in it for just a moment before retreating to remember the cool embrace of his home.
