There was a video on YouTube that had extremely flashy and jumpy images, seriously; the entire thing was jumping every two to five frames or something and it was awful (other than that it was nice), but about a minute after watching it I started slightly shacking cause the quality was so bad and skippy O_O

Thanks! I considered modifying some Ikea stuff, but I'm too tall for it to be practical. Its funny, because I sit most of the day I actual have found my back hurts less. My legs on the other hand are complaining.

Awesome! So you know the new Playstation 4 systems, right? Well we bought ours on December 19th, as a gift to one another, and today we ran out to grab Tomb Raider: The Definitive Collection. Well, we get excited because it is our first actual game for the system. We pop it in. The opening credits are great, all the details are awesome, and just as we get to the playable part, our TV becomes vertical lines with a sound equivalent to Dumb & Dumber's most annoying sound.

Few more attempts, and we learn out PS4 is factory, out-of-the-box piece of shit.

We called tech support and the ran us through the gambit to tell us what we already knew: We now own a $400 paper weight.

Awesome.

It's two weeks until we get a refurbished unit. Meaning we get to pay the full price of a new PS4 for a hunk of junk held together with solder and duct tape.

Well Microsoft, I hate your security bullshit and overpriced online service, but you're starting to look mighty tempting in light of Sony's fuck up.

Eh. Two things. First, I bought my XBone from Best Buy and got the protection plan, mainly because I get the employee discount, but also because I supposed it might go bad. So far so good though, not a single hiccup. Second, though, I haven't really found much to play on it. I don't want to get Tomb Raider because apparently it looks noticeably better on PS4, as does Assassin's Creed, and Ryse gets boring pretty fast. Killer Instinct is good times, but it also doesn't have story mode so I don't play it much. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably get a PS4, though yeah, I would have got the protection plan on that too. So in my opinion you're both right.

Hys: I've heard that from people, too. I never had issues with my legs, but I've heard of people getting weird vein shit going on. My previous job necessitated standing around a lot, so I think I got all the potential leg pain out of the way there. If you haven't already, I'd recommend getting some sort of pad to stand on. One of the people that originally suggested the standing desk to me just folds up a blanket and stands on that because the floor kills her ankles.

I went to a salon today to get my hair cut, and the stylist asked me to be a Hair Model for her, because she liked my hair so much. I was so shocked I said yes and gave her my number, though I doubt I'll ever hear from her. Still, it was a O_o moment for me.

After the salon, I went tot he liquor store and got hit on by a guy in the wine aisle. I never get hit on! I think the planets have aligned or something.

While I was getting final signatures and whatnot from the manager of the Subway I'll be working at, a customer overheard me telling her that I wasn't sure when I could get black jeans/pants (apparently, my scrubs won't do) because at the moment I only had $50 to my name.

He walked over and handed me $100!!

Just like that! Which means that not only will I be easily able to get the required black jeans, but also a decent pair of black tennis shoes, and pay my next bill that's due at the end of this month!

(I also almost cried in gratefulness when I got back to my car...)

I kinda knew it was coming. I changed jobs and had some leave paid out. The tax rate for the system calculated lump sums like that as additional to your salary, however my salary was higher in my new job, so I wasn't taxed enough. I didn't quite realise it would be that much though....

Well, plenty of interesting things have happened as of late. I found Torin and Xilium who will be joining us on our crazy antics. I received an email from Damon Kaosi, and he is doing well. He is currently chasing his doctorate in college and will not be able to partake in the madness unfortunately. I've found a few others that I'm hoping to hear back from soon, and I may have an old friend of mine join the site. Her and I have role played since before the interwebs. That was when RP was written on spiral notebooks!

All good news, and I'm super stoked for what's yet to come.

Just so you know, an ol home remedy for warts that always worked for me.

Take a small piece of paper towel, place it on your wart, encircle the wart on the paper towel with a pen, and then burn the paper towel.

So my brother who is a psychopath had a wart once on his hand. Despite everyone telling him otherwise, he was convinced that it was caused by "spores" under his skin, so he kept cutting the wart open and digging the "spores" out (I think there WERE little black specks, I don't remember what they said they were) and then sticking pharmacy-grade salicylic acid directly into the open wound. The doctor told him not to, my parents told him not to, everyone told him to knock it off but he did not give a fuck. I think I mentioned that he's a psychopath.

Still, the wart went away in a few weeks and he's never had one since, so who knows.

I blanked on posting this until just now, but I had (first to my recollection) an Althanas dream. Fitting I guess as it was not long after Luned had talked about her dreams on the 'cast.

I was in Eiskalt in some sort of store house/ locker room (it had those lockers you see in change rooms) with a bunch of other people (I remember knowing them, but can't remember who). There were zombies chasing us that had been created by gas that had been leaked (this part comes from the book Bonebreaker that I started reading post - podcast recommendation). It was basically me running around pushing my way through zombies as everyone with me was starting to run out of ammo, though the lockers were barely keeping us alive. This continued, rather frantically until I awoke out of some sort of fit of stress. Followed by an immediate realization that I'd had a althy dream.

Technically, this was Monday, but whatever. My DnD party was in a cave in the Faedark, trying to get to the Faewild. I play both Rogue and Paladin, because the party needed both. Anyways, a Spiderkin asked us to ally with her, and proceeded to insult the Eladrin race. (Guess what race my rogue is.) When she said "they are a dagger in our hearts" I went "literally!"

Then I threw a dagger. I hit, did damage, then sneak attack, then popped a daze for good measure. Then the pixie boosted me up, I bamfed even higher, then bull rushed her down a little. Action point, more damage, make her grant CA. Then SHE bamfed, pixie gave us some light, Pally spotted the Spider, Warlord healed the Rogue (falling damage for ow, even with a decent acrobatics check), Rogue took out her sling and finished off the Spider. Epic moment of Rogue! Whoo!



Also, last night our intern went to a restaurant I recommended and brought me back a custard shell, because she's a sweetie.

It was (mostly) fine! I drove it to the mechanics a few days later. The automatic transmission needed to be replaced (that is what caused the fire). I never did get the windscreen washer fixed that was burnt. I had it for another fours years afterwards. I traded her in for cash this year. Rest in piece(s) Natalie.

Speaking of car stuff: yesterday I was driving in a whiteout, which was totally fine. Then I got off the expressway, and there was a stoplight, so I stopped apparently right on some nice powdery snow. When I tried to go my tires just spun in place, so I gunned it to get going, but then I couldn't STOP going, so my car just kinda slid into a barricade.

Pulled off into a gas station to look at my car to see if there's any damage, and while I'm there I get a text about how my mom has to go to a cardiologist (after my dad just had open heart surgery). Nobody in my nuclear family is overweight or fails to exercise, so apparently we all just have shit genes when it comes to our hearts. Good job, genes!

And this was after I totally blew it on the phone with this girl I find unfathomably cool and attractive.

And today I found out that I bent a strut completely out of shape, and a wheel, and I have to replace both my front tires. Right before the holidays. Oh, and get a new alignment. I just paid for an alignment two months ago.

So if it seems like I'm flaking on posts for you guys, it's not that I swear! It's just...well.

Yesterday: No car. Fiance took it to facilitate her's getting repaired. $500 later, she's told she needs a new battery. She gets a new battery.

6:30 AM: Fiance's car won't start. Doesn't take a jump, but the alarm sure does work fine. She proceeds in having a mental breakdown. Her boss is a dick.

7:15 AM: To quell the storm, I offer my car to her after driving to work. She accepts. I have no car. Fiance is still in a bad mood.

8:00 AM: Work starts. Boss comes to desk with packet of papers. My name is highlighted on 25% of it. I get told to fill out needless paperwork to facilitate a paperless process.

9:30 AM: I finish mundane paperwork. Headache begins to set in. Boss hands me another paper about an old order. I check the order. There is no reason it hasn't shipped. Need to call New Jersey to figure it out. They don't pick up.

10:00 AM: Get a hold of New Jersey. They look into it. They have no answers. I tell them to get it done regardless. They agree and hang up. I start on 120+ item quote from yesterday.

10:30 AM: None of the items on the quote are in the system. They system doesn't even have anything searchable for the product line. We are a major rep for this product. Senior employee of 25+ years can't even find it. Have to call and get pricing on each item individually.

11:00 AM: New Jersey calls. They ran out of stock while the order didn't ship meaning they sold product that was already sold. Need to wait 2 more weeks for more product. Fun.

Al is a Latin prefix (one of several) for moving towards. Although the Latin for death (and its personification) is Thanatus, not thanas, as far as I know. Of course, my Latin is virtually non-existent.

And it relates to the D&D campaign. The first test session, I didn't have a character sheet ready. Otto offered to let me roleplay as an NPC, which I happily took up. Once joining Skype, I found out I had to voice the beautiful Lady Snugglesworth.

I have since given her a backstory, and intend to use her in threads. Her, and her Nummymuffin Fruit orchards.

Edit: After further reading, Althanas could totally read as "Moving towards Death" when you consider similar words "euthanasia." Of course, this is based on the Greek, and mixing two languages is how the incorrectly pompous try to get away with saying Octopi. If we're using the Latin, I'd think it'd be more like Almors, or Alobitus (words like Mortuary or Obituary have more strictly Latin origins.)

That said, Althanas sounds way better than the words I made up.

Today we did something good for our souls. It was warm and rainy so we went to a local botanical park and played in the rain. We didn't get to stay long. It started raining harder than the sprinkle we were expecting, but I got a few good pictures.

One thing you have to understand, I am a fully registered mediator with the supreme court of Georgia, and in keeping that registration I must do so many mediations a year. As it so happens I do them for free as a volenter mediator with the Coastal Mediation Center of Savannah. Well, today it was a doozy; a domestic case with a divorced couple and the kicker, the kids were brought along for the ride. Now, usually, my superviser puts them in an unused room and hooks her lap top up to one of the built in screens and runs a movie, which she did, but the trick was today, the kids had to been called in for caucus. Visitation rights were one of the items up for discussion, and as a consequence I had to run a caucus, which is where I meat with each party privately, just with the kids. Its not easy handling a case where the adults use the children as pawns in a game to hurt the other party, but thanks to a little ingenuity, we managed to come up with a plan that even the kids, who telling exactly whose those were the adults or the children I can’t say, were happy with. So, that’s what happened to me today.

So, in order to beat holiday madness my brother and I went out to grab a few things we would need to repair our apartment. It’s about eight AM when we get back, and I hear some people talking in the apartment lobby area that’s on our floor. My brother decided to take the elevator and I decided to take the stairs, and thus, arrive on the floor before him.

So I hear some laughter, pretty boisterous, and a woman there says “you with the glasses.” I turn my head and say “yes,” there’s a noise of fabric moving and then laughter.

Apparently my brother walks in while this is going on, and replies, “If you are going to flash somebody, picking a blind guy isn’t your best bet.” To which there’s even more laughter. It’s not until later that I find out she flashed me, so that’s one of the interesting things that happened to me today.
