Wednesday night, our DnD group ran a Christmas special. An orc had stolen "Father Solstice's" bag of presents, so we had to go get it back from the weird mountain where said orc lived. Along the way, we fought eight mimics disguised as presents, a treant disguised as a Christmas tree, and a frost giant who appeared to us as Frosty. I play a ranger who syncs heavily with the druid; together we do a TON of DPS.

Finally, we come across this ramshackle hut, where something inside is humming festive songs and working on something. Written above his door is "Gruumsh Bless Us, Everyone." The rogue knocks, the orc opens the door, and the bard, not wanting ANOTHER combat if we can avoid it, breaks into "We wish you a Merry Fourthfeast!" He's DELIGHTED, because he's never had carolers before. It turns out that he loves Fourthfeast, and he's only stolen the bag and hat of disguise because the guy who plays Father Solstice for the little orphans in Silvery Moon has been kidnapped by agents of Shar. He just wants to step up and be the Father Solstice that the little orphans need right now.

So we run with it. We get his canoe, our druid turns into an elk, someone makes his nose glow red, and we go careening down the mountain, and Fourthfeast is saved! Kariss Haringle (our orc friend) is REALLY into being Father Solstice, the kids are super excited, and everything goes well. Then the real wizard who'd been playing Solsti showed up and bestowed our party with presents. I got a cavalier's saddle so I can't be unmounted from my wild-shaping druid and a phial of the forest which can make a 4 square area smell like a forest. The druid got to see three dinosaurs to change into. The paladin got adamantine armor. The cleric got a shiny potion making kit. The wizard got a new staff. The sorcerer got his wands upgraded. The rogue got a set of glamoured studded leather armor, and the warlock got a +1 weapon (I think) and a feather for his earring. The bard got nothing because she wasn't scripted to be there; I just handed an extra character to the DM's brother who randomly showed up.

So... yeah.
