The Cinderella Man

So, I’ve just finished my first solo in a VERY long time, but somewhere around the midpoint of that quest I realized that I was telling only half of the story. And since I’m not overly fond of solos – I find them a necessary evil, especially in a place packed with so many good writers – I decided to get some help for the second part of the story.
This quest is going to be all about carnage and fire and smoke. Victor is going on a path of vendetta and he’s going to kill everybody and anybody that stands on his path. But his enemies are many, and the head honcho amongst them a sleazy little man called Walter Jimes who governs the Radasanth’s whoring empire. We’re going to hit the man where it hurts, taking first his money, then taking out his business, and ultimately take away his life. For that purpose, however, Padre needs help. Your help. I intended to make this a three-person quest, myself included, because a higher number then three in an action-packed story usually gives messy results. I do have some prerequisites.
The first is activity. I can’t emphasize this more. I don’t ask for a post every day, but I do want people that can respond with a post two-three days after their turn has come. Of course, there would be tolerance – we all have lives that sometimes prevent us from writing and sometimes chances are that even I won’t be able to meet the deadline. But if this exception turns into a rule, don’t be surprised if I write you out of a quest, possibly in a rather messy manner. So what I’m asking is dedication. If you don’t see yourself on Althanas in the next month or two, still writing, don’t put your name in the hat. It might sound rigorous, but it’s the way things get done.
Because of this and the specific character prerequisites this will not be a first come-first served type of recruitment. I need active people, but I also have in mind the type of characters I’d like to accompany me.
#1 – I need a firestarter. Somebody who can throw a fireball would be nice. Somebody who can throw a dozen of them would be better. Somebody who can raise hell would be perfect. However, I’m aware that there aren’t that many mages who fit the bill, especially the “raising hell” part. The only name that comes to mind is Luc, but he’s too cocky of a bastard to fit into this story. The alignment of this character should be opposite of the character #2. So if our mage is a good guy, the other participant should be a bad guy. Or girl. One of the two characters should definitely be a chick.
#2 – I need somebody who can kill a man stealthily, preferably from distance. Archers, rogues, assassins and other similar scoundrels, it doesn’t really matter. As long as you’re not a bludgeoner who rushes into a battle headlong, you’re good for the job. There would be some touchy parts where we won’t be able to gung-ho it, so we’ll need some finesse.
But where is your tank, you might be asking now? Where’s the dude with the huge shiny things that likes to poke others with the pointy end? Well, chances are I won’t need one. With Victor packing a lot of heat, and a mage that packs heat in a more literal sense, and an assassin, I think we’re good. However, not all is lost for all of you swordsmen. If I don’t find an appropriate mage, I’d be taking a warrior with me instead and just light the fires with some petroleum or lamp oil or whatnot. It’s less snazzy, but it’ll get the job done.
If you have any questions, ask them here or PM me. Same for registering.
Wow, this turned out longer then I expected.
