Name: Kirin Taka
Age: 17
Race: Half-elf
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Silver
Height: 6'1"/185 cm
Weight: 150 lb/68 kg
Occupation: Wanderer/Refugee/Street Rat

Personality: To Be Established

Appearance: Kirin is tall and lean, slightly underweight from a lifetime of hard living. He's still growing into his muscles, whipcord though they are, and he may yet achieve another ten pounds of muscle before he settles into full adulthood. His hair is probably a bit shaggier than it should be, falling into is eyes and down the back of his neck. His pale skin offsets his (to some) unsettling silver eyes.

History: Kirin was born in Radasanth to an Akashiman woman who raised him for the first few years of his life. For the most part, despite their impoverished state, they managed well enough, until the civil war broke out. As the Empire became more and more strict, and resources became more and more scarce, the criminal underbelly of the city flourished, dragging once-prosperous citizens into its depths. One of these was Kirin's mother, who took to smuggling and thievery in order to feed herself and her son. Like many others, however, she was caught in the crossfire between the upper class and the crime lords, leaving Kirin to fend for himself at the tender age of thirteen. His mother's killer, a man known as Checkmate, took Kirin in along with a group of other orphaned youth. Under his merciless tutelage, they learned the basics of fighting, thievery, and espionage.

When he was sixteen, Kirin and those of his group loyal to him, overthrew and killed Check and many of the older syndicate members. Soon after, however, they were forced to flee from the Imperial guards in a raid. Kirin does not know what happened to any of them, and his search for his scattered group has been cut off by the ever-intensifying hunt for him. For now, he has been forced to flee Radasanth, but he will come back and find his people again. He swears it.

Skills:

Thievery--an absolute necessity. This is mostly limited to breakins and pickpocketing, although he's been known to hold people at knifepoint before, as well. Kirin hates this, mostly, despite its continued necessity, and will avoid it whenever possible save when the alternative is starving. Or when there's a deserving jerk.
Knife Fighting--Check was very thorough. Kirin knows his way around his knives.
Freerunning--Best way to escape the guard, ever. It feels almost like flying. Kir loves it with a passion.

Abilities:

Heightened Speed--Kirin has a faster reaction time than the average person, able to see, process, and react about twice as fast as normal.

Dexterity/Grace--Kirin is a knife fighter. Being about twice as fast as a civilian makes it easy for him to sway out of the way of strikes he cannot afford to block, dodging by the absolute bare minimum.

Pinpoint Strike--Kirin lashes out at a weak spot in his opponent's armor in an attempt to end the fight via critical injury. He can only do this once in a fight, though, due to the extreme risk inherent in targeting a specific area and leaving himself open to retaliation.

Equipment: Three simple iron daggers, concealed in various places across his body. His clothing is a simple set of black pants and grey shirt that confers no real defense at all, save from the elements, and a hooded jacket that he uses to conceal his face.
