Looks
Valic is a frail looking boy of 15 who, other than his obvious tiefling features, would be overlooked by almost anyone as nothing more than another country peasant. He is not particularly tall, his muscles are sinewy at best, and he looks very slim. His hair is often trying to stand up in a messy way, dark black with a purple tint to it. His skin is a light reddish brown, some would say almost auburn in certain lights and on certain days. And he has two small horns coming out from his forehead, along with sharp half-elven looking ears.

Valic was born in the hamlet of Tastow, a quaint little place between the forest of Brokenthorn and the Valeena Lake. It was a quiet and unassuming place that existed solely for the purpose of existing. Rarely was there a traveler that stayed the night in the one inn, Lost Chase Inn, and the three rooms that were available were often vacant. Those that did come through were often on their way to Brokenthorn from Valeena or vice versa, and if they blinked they would miss Tastow completely. Often their maps took them around the hamlet entirely.
So it was that the small community existed for an unknown period of time. There was no mayor or anyone in charge, the folk minded each other as family despite their mixed backgrounds. Unlike the rest of the nation, this hamlet of roughly 90 inhabitants had no true majority of a singular race. There were gnomes, humans, dwarves, all types of elven kind from high to dark to woodland. A handful of goblins, half-orcs, and a troll couple had come to live in the village as well.
When Ms. Calarel showed up some years ago, a high elf bloodied and afraid, it was as if she belonged as much as anyone else. Months later she gave birth to Valic who, despite his features of a Tiefling and his red skin, was treated just like all the other children in the village. He grew up happy, got into mischief with the other kids, learned as much as he could, and knew life to be a place of contentment....
