A short while later, Nosdyn stood in the center of their fort like city. His eyes were narrowed and he wore his mask as he studied the area in front of him. In the front of the fort like city was a large and growing mage tower. Nosdyn looked off to the direction of his son. His eyes were narrowed as the gathered undead spoke to their lord and savior. He looked at them calmly. With a carefully placed nod he looked at his people. "We have to be ever vigilant of attacks from Xaliel. We must be certain we retain our freedom."

One of the undead, a warrior named Drethok walked up to him calmly. "My lord the scouts have reported a group approaches us from Xaliel." He said calmly and dutifully. He bowed gently towards his master.

Nosdyn looked in the general direction that Drethok had indicated. He nods. "Ready our defenses." Nosdyn said calmly. There were more nobles likely attempting to take their freedoms from them. He kept his arms folded across chest as he walked calmly towards the front of their city. His eyes narrowed and scanning the field in front of their city, the field of the tular plains.

He watches the approaching caravan. It had been the third or fourth one in as many months and weeks.

He watched their approach and smelled their fear. He raised his hand in a fist, his left one and that was the signal for their forces to ready arms.

His eyes narrowed as he looked at the enemy forces. There was a band of about twenty strong demons.

His muscles bulged beneath the leather outfit he wore. His great cloak dancing in the afternoon wind. His eyes were narrowed as he studied them, their leader was a female demon at that point.

He recalled the last female demon that had attempted to join their city, she'd become a great concubine.

His face was knotted in fury as he looked at the demons. In a completely different act, he began to move forward knowing his well placed archers and snipers were ready should the worst come to past. He walked towards the group of demons. His boots crunching the earth beneath him. He paused a few feet away from the demon's leader. His eyes locked on her red eyes...there was a fury there. This woman has some potential to her... Nosdyn looked calmly at her. His face hidden behind the mask.

They stood in front of the other.

A few paces away from one another. Nosdyn spoke first, taking charge of the situation. "State your business." Nosdyn says calmly.

The woman shifted uncomfortably. She walked up towards Nosdyn and handed him a parcel. "From your father." She suddenly said.

"Bullshit." Nosdyn suddenly said and looked at the parcel, it indeed was marked with the Krotar seal.

He sighed. "State your terms." Nosdyn suddenly said.

"We're tired of the way things are done on Xaliel. Xaliel needs new leadership my lord." She said calmly. She suddenly knelt before Lord Nosdyn and the others knelt before him.

His eyes darted across the field. No other snipers or separate members of their group. They were alone. "You are prepared to offer me your bodies?" Nosdyn suddenly asked her.

She nodded. "Yes my lord. Your father meant for you to take Xaliel over." She suddenly stated. "The existing noble houses became afraid of you and took action. This is the result of that action. Now everything is primed for you to take over." She said carefully.

He listened to her deal.

Profit. That was all the grizzled old warrior was interested in. She came to their city prepared to offer him a tremendous boon. A boon that n one of the other demons had been ready to offer. They wanted him to take Xaliel over. His arms tightened across his chest for a moment and he suddenly nodded. "I accept your terms." The demon lord suddenly said...

He looked at the woman carefully she was quite attractive. Their spawn would be strong. She hugged Lord Nosdyn after a moment and he hugged her back. He knew what had just happened he was no fool.

The ghosts of his father's past had just resurfaced.
