My case for GTA:VC:
- Open World Exploration, mixed beautifully with loads of side quests, a driving central story, and boundless collectibles. GTA:VC wasn't the first to do this, but at its time was far and away the best.
- Humor - With Ray Liotta as the main voice, tons of talented voice actors, and fantastic writing, this game is objectively hilarious.
- Music - The 80's music on the various tracks gives you HOURS and HOURS of fun, just driving around. If you can't run from the cops in a Ferrari after stealing drugs with "Rush, Rush, Get The Yayo", or enjoy screwing and murdering hookers to "Billie Jean", honestly just get the fuck out of my face.
- Vehicles - easy driving controls, with unique handling for over 100 different cars. Dirt bikes that can almost fly. Motorcycles that send you 200 MPH. Dozens of monstrous hidden jumps. Countless tricks to be performed.
- Weapons - Rocket Launchers, Sniper Rifles, Chainsaws, Flamethrowers, and Uzi's with a special "drive-by" feature. Outrageously awesome.
- Secrets - More of them than you can imagine. Collectible (PORN!) film reels, secret jumps, secret mini games, rampages, car collection mini games, and so much more. The secrets feel ENDLESS here.
- Best of Its Time - There were some other games of the generation which were essentially copycats. Some of these (Scarface, The Godfather) were quite good, but don't come CLOSE to competing. The only game I can think of that similarly separated itself would be FF7, a far more flawed game.
These are only a few, but we're already at "enough". THE. BEST. EVER.
You missed off replayability.
