Mikael Leviasi ia Saiph
Location: Forest Regions near the City of Anebrilith

His fingers reached carefully around a small statue, some of the dormant magic within stirred but Mikael only felt the cold and dusty metal when he wrapped his hands around. Narrowed eyes of blue he inspected the bronze statue with bored interest, a few moments passed and he gently placed the dusty statue back down. The young Elf rubbed his fingers, smoothly rubbing away the dust away as Mikael walked towards a different set of shelves that held several rows of books and manuscripts.

Mikael ran his fingers across the spines of the books, a few he read the title and slowly he realized that all of these were copies from their own library back home. With an eyebrow raised he continued to idly read the titles of the copies, discovering many were of the old magic and further studies of how magic and elves were one and the same, but as his fingers slid across the many books he stopped on one that was quite unlike the others.

Stories for children, the many tales of Juras, the Mighty Dragon of the Cold Mountains, to the Mermaids of the Deep Sapphire Seas and one strange book of a Cat and Mouse.

Distant childish laughter echoed in Mikael’s memories as he peered closer at the children books, they were all dusty as the rest but his hand reached for one regardless and when held it Mikael quickly cleaned the book of all its dust. The glossy cover of the children’s book was dulled but the metallic color and soft imprints of the characters remained nearly preserved. His curiosity growing, Mikael carefully opened the book and delicately traced the words printed on the pages with his finger, reading each word in his head as he did so. . . It was one of his favorites, a story of a lonely elf finding friends and discovering a family.

Mikael closed the book, he placed the book back and turned to hear the sound of his own name, and footsteps that quickly followed. Who. . .

As if appearing out of thin air his sister stood before him, her smile and matching sapphire eyes as the two shared a quick moment of silence. Though the older sibling, Mikael always forgot how much shorter his sister was when compared to most Elves her age.

With most of his surprise finally ebbing away, Mikael finally found his sister after all his running and searching, he spoke “I didn’t know where you were headed. I was only looking for you because I have a favor to ask but-” Mikael explained, “-When I heard from the nearby village that an aloof elf was heading near the City of Anebrilith I went to go search for you.” Mikael added, his eyes turned to scan his sister to make sure she hadn’t injured herself.

Their mother had mastered healing magic with so many opportunities to practice due to a certain child, so Mikael was simply behaving out of pure reflex and instinct.

Taking a few steps, he slowly circled Ayvriel, his hands clasped behind his back, “-There has been sightings of undead nearby, and yet you marched into the forest.” Mikael spoke, his voice low as he attempted to soften his approach.

He looked up and down his sister, next he gently raised her arms and checked for any cuts or wounds before he walked back to face her and placed his hands gently on her face to inspect for any signs of corruption or wounds on her temple and beneath her hair.

“Hold still,” Mikael instructed as he peered closer but being sure to be gentle as he inspected Ayvriel’s head. His thumbs gently caressed her cheekbones and his palms warmed with magic as he checked for any irregularities. Once done with that portion he finally placed the back of his hand on her forehead to check for any fevers, his nodded once, assured his sister was physically okay.

Mikael focused back on Ayvriel with his own azure eyes before suddenly he clasped both his hands on either side of her face.

He pressed into both her cheeks, squishing her face slightly as he spoke clearly, “-Why did you just go somewhere dangerous with just yourself?” Mikael asked, his eyes narrowed as his voice turned from concern to the serious tone their father would use on them decades ago.
