I think it's been a while since we've had one of these threads. I could be mistaken, though. I only checked the first two pages.

This one's exactly what it says on the tin. What book/books has/have your attention right now? Anything coming down the pipe that you've got your eyes on?

Here, I'll start. I'm currently on another single-day tear-through of another A. Lee Martinez book; this one being "Divine Misfortune".

On deck are Cherie Priest's "Clementine" (because "Ganymede", the fourth in her Clockwork Century series dropped within the past two weeks) and Mike Brown's "How I Killed Pluto and Why It Had It Coming".

I recently purchased most of Frank Herbert's Dune books, and I'm currently reading the third one, Children of Dune.

Lined up after the Dune saga is George R.R. Martin's A Dance with Dragons, which I'm delaying as much as possible because I'm a huge fan of the series and don't want to finish it too quickly and then wait another five years for him to finish the next one. :P

I don't read that much anymore. Got through the first two R.R. Martin books not too long ago, stalled on the third one.

That's the last actual book that I've read.

Ghost Stories by Jim Butcher! (Late to the game, I know.) Stop The Train by Geraldine McCaughrean is on the list after that.

I've got the first four Song of Ice and Fire books on my shelf right now. I wrapped up Game of Thrones not too long ago, but I'm going to wait a while before I finish the other four. My book backlog is big enough; I figure that by the time I get through Dance with Dragons, the sixth book will be out.

I'm just surprised that I liked Game of Thrones to begin with. Normally I stay away from srs bsns high fantasy, but that was just one well-crafted story. It was thick, but it wasn't dragged out. That, and Tyrion Lannister is a bad-ass.

I'm still on my first game of thrones book. I haven't really been reading much because I've been so busy, but I've stacks of books ranging from a Passport to the Supernatural which I'm using as source material to more Phillip K. Dick like the Teleported Man. I think this winter I'll definitely be reading as much as I can when I get some time off.

That being said, I think the only characters I've really cared for in GoT from what little I've read are Ned, Robert and Jon. The rest are assholes.

Very slowly working my way through A Feast For Crows. I just don't read as much as I used to now that I'm not commuting to and from work every day.

Waiting on 'The Fault In Our Stars' by John Green to come out (and hoping I got the first one autographed, a Yeti, or a Hanklerfish autograph one). Other than that, I'm probably going to just indulge in my comics until then.

Ah Peter David, can you -not- write a compelling story?

I just finished Teach Us To Sit Still by Tim Parks.

I think this is the start of a reading bonanza, which is great, as I've not read for pleasure for well over 8 months and my to read shelf is currently bowing into a curve with 40 odd volumes I've hoarded over the last three years.

Next I think it's Under Wishbone Clouds or The Night Watch...choices choices.

Last book I read was Dreadfleet, which was an okay pulp fiction novel. By no means is it an award winner but I felt it was nice for the short time it took to read. Definitely grittier than the usual stuff I read.

Last book before that was Flight of the Eisenstein. It was a slow burn but picked up at the end. I preferred Galaxy in Flames.
