Althanas News Hello Once Again, Althanas! As most of you probably know, The Serenti Invitational has begun and is currently in full swing. What you guys may not know is the new rule regarding the tournament this year For every 48 hours a player does not post, the scoring judge takes a point off from that player's wildcard score. So if your original wildcard was going to be a 5, but you did not post within 48 hours, the scoring judge will give it a 4. This rule was made to promote quicker activty in the forum, and prevent the use of making an incredible introductory post, only to stall until the last minute. Your points won't be counted off if you finish your match before the the two week time slot is finished, but please be sure to PM the judge of the tournament, "Silence Sei], so your points aren't taken away due to a misunderstanding. For those of you who are fans of our wiki, we are now promoting use of the census feature. This is a section of the wiki that allows you to write things about your character, and you as an author. Keep in mind, we don't just want an exact copy of the profile you submit in the Realm of Greeting, but some insight into your thoughts. What was your inspiration for creating this character? What was the basis for any story arcs your character involved themselves in? What is your favorite type of adventure? Think of it like a DVD, we don't just want the movie about your creation, we want behind the scenes and director commentaries too! Jasmine has a new Vignette ready. Vignettes are a fun way to score some easy experience and GP, so don't dilly-dally, and make sure you go out there and submit some interesting new perspectives on your characters! Thread of The Week This is where we will put the spotlight on ongoing threads of note in Althanas, giving them a bit of attention. This weeks featured thread comes from two veterans of Althanas, Elrundir and Silence Sei. It's titled A Legacy of Blood. Here's an excerpt, and be sure to keep up with it as best you can... "The Red Forest. For milennia, it had served as a powerful symbol for the elven people. Cursed in an age long forgotten to all but the elves themselves, even they found it difficult to remember a time when those woods, once known simply as the Great Forest, were safe for man and elf to travel. For the shorter-lived races of the world, the Forgotten were just that—well beyond the boundaries of memory, little more than fairy tales used to frighten naughty children. But the elves would always have a reminder of their presence in the forest that spanned the southern reaches of their continent, now turned blood-red by the Red Witch Podë... Article of The Week This is where we feature one of the articles we've made for the Althanas Wiki so far. This week's featured article focuses on Akashima "Akashima is a small country nestled in the northeastern area of the Corone island. Once a small village of barbarians when the Raiaeran explorers first found them, the Demon War left them torn from their ancient roots. However, from the ashes of the fallen a new nation emerged to reclaim the land of their ancestors, the new generations of warriors and artisan reviving their forefathers' way of life. This small nation is unique in a sense that it is an island within an island - ruling independently of the Coronian Government while still remaining in good terms with them since reconnecting with the outside world...

Member Spotlight As more and more members make their wiki pages, we'll begin to feature some of them, helping members get to know one another. Judge's Choice Spotlight The Judge's Choice forum is a great source of inspiration. Members should know what others before them have achieved. This week's Judge's Choice Spotlight comes from Tshael and Shadar, and is titled The Sacrifice Here's an excerpt... "The night was deep in Radasanth when the figure's footsteps rang down the street. Each beat on the steps of the Palace of Pain was an echo of the empty heart that somehow still managed to feebly beat within. The slump of the figure's shoulders belied the pain and exhaustion that had washed over her since the desperate claw out of Concordia. She'd been fed on the milk of despair from the moment she'd unleashed the old Concordian goddess and been forced to work the spell that left her son little more than a cocoon for his fading soul. Now the fuel that had caused her to wrap up her child's body in the tattered remains of her shirt and somehow stumble through the darkness of the forest onto the cobbled evening streets of the capitol city was starting to wear thin...
